I had a prof. who accepted Google Docs for papers. It was fucking amazing. He could annotate it from anywhere, anytime. I could see it instantly when he gave me feedback. No “Oh sorry I forgot my paper” or “I dropped it on the way to school!” I just made it public or visible to link, emailed it or what have you, and he had easy quick access to it.
I was wondering why have the last 2 podcasts been so much larger in size? Does it have to do with the increased bitrate (it seems to have been bumped to 128kbps)?
I guess I’m a little paranoid about going over my bandwidth cap and I can’t really hear a noticeable difference in audio quality.

The argument wasn’t how to differentiate whiskeys, but the misunderstanding of what “whiskey” is. I’ve always come to understand “whiskey” as the moniker in which grain mash alcohol lies withen (bourbon, scotch, irish, rye, etc.) — which, may I add, is backed by the article you linked!
Much like you say “wine” — ‘what kind of wine? Cabernet, Merlot, Zinfandel, etc…

About the turning in papers thing. I’m a junior in college and I can’t remember the last time I every printed any paper out. Everything is turned in by email using a pdf or word document.

I’m a physics student at Lancaster UK and I just wanted to say that the majority of our work is written even our LaTeX stuff we are required to print both compiled and source code. Online submission happend twice all year both for dull tasks the prof didn’t want to mark, such as if this a matrix.
I could be a fringe case since typing and explaining most of my stuff because exp more complicated the harder the work. In science journals they hand in LaTeX code which while pretty would be too open for cheating and it takes hour longer than it needs be.

re: the question about why headphones/earbuds always break, I think it is really all about how people store them. If you wrap them around your phone tightly then you are fucked as they will break very quickly. I’ve got a set of Sennheiser C something or other which I have had for about four years and they still work perfectly. I use them five or six days a week often for multiple hours. I have found that if you can have a dedicated pocket for them (away from keys, which they can become entangled with) and dont wrap or wind them up then they just dont get damaged. Yes, you will have to untangle them before use but I think its worth it. If you do need to wind them up then make sure they are super loose.
I tried going paperless for a few years, but I went back and love my printer now. Nothing beats a pen and paper printouts for doing work, like marking up diagrams, checklists, making corrections on documents, having something next to your monitor for reference, etc.

Snobby one-percent Norm and his unrealistic sense of value. Clearly it’s never occurred to him that some of us ninteny-nine percenters actually depend on sales to be able to afford our hobby; and that our measly gaming budgets likely take a much greater fraction of our relative incomes than his.
I took the argument as mainly how Will is wrong about whisky.. Which is surprising since he’s usually the snobbiest (and also quite knowledgeable) about these things. I’m not even remotely Scottish, but I did a double take when Will said he don’t consider “scotch” whisky. Really?! Please go say that in Edinburgh.. It’s just the OG whisky!
It’s clearly just an american thing though. How you have to call (real) whisky Scotch, so as not to accindetially drink a proper manly dram instead of the foul stuff you call whiskey..
