I like veronica, she is a good tech informed guest. And Jeremy has a few good jokes as always.
YES i was just thinking last week that (this is my opinion and my opinion alone) Bonnie is BOORING and i wished that they had gotten Veronica instead. AND THIS WEEK THEY GOT VERONICA. I AM SO HAPPY!
Glad to see Veronica back.
Can somebody at TESTED PM me with the ebay vendor referral?
It’s the grey shirt crew!
It is important to note that Pittsburgh is not the East Coast.
Ah…Another good guided meditation book with audio is Effortless Mastery by pianist Kenny Werner. Totally a good entry level. http://kennywerner.com/effortless-mastery
Rob Reinhard is a moron.
His nuc and flat panel still run of AC… thats what you need the inverter for dipshit!
wi-fi as opposed to a screened cable???
yeah thats gonna cut down on the EM radiation you encounter.
oh dear oh dear
Jesus H… there’s nothing wrong with Wi-Fi Sense. I sometimes have it on with my phone (Lumia master race) and connecting to Bright House hotspots is great.
See exhibit 1a

Yay Veronica!! 🙂
Those Bluetooth controllers are the best, right?! 😀
I have a NES one I use mostly with my iPad to play (S)NES games. It has four regular buttons (A, B, X, Y) and also two shoulder buttons. So you can use it with newer games that require more than 2 buttons, but it still looks and feels awesome 🙂
thanks for the info
Also as a grown-ass man, I usually buy uht organic milk and it never goes bad (within my usage patterns). It costs a little more but never having bad milk is worth it to me.
A great site and app for Mindfull Meditation is Headspace. It starts very basic, 10 minutes, and works up from there. The app, App on iTunes, is free to start for the 10 x 10-minute meditations so that you can try them before paying. It is a subscription service after that, but well worth it.
There are Chrome extensions that block flash components of websites. It is nice and you can either chose specific things to run, such as premium video player, or the entire site.
Veronica is really really entertaining. I hope she becomes a regular. Also great to see more women on the show. Nice episode chaps.
I take it no one else eats their cereal with water? lol I don’t drink anything that squeezed out of a cow.
How does that dude get hot water? That takes a lot of energy…
Are these the cars you were talking about? Le Mans Prototype race car. Pronounced lə mɑ̃ or leh-mah.
Canada has a pretty good Maternity Leave system…
New mothers can take between 17 and 52 Weeks of leave from their jobs, and their job is guaranteed when they return. Plus, under the unemployment system, they can get paid leave for either or both parents up to 35 weeks after the baby is born, or adopted.
Great show. I’d like to ‘like’ it, but You Tube seems to have decided that we shouldn’t ‘like’ movies that were embedded somewhere other than You Tube. They have removed that functionality from the player interface. Discuss that.
The DMCA should have a reciprocity clause, would definitely be an interesting way to prevent abuse. They DMCA your review but it is not a valid request and now all their content about the product has to be removed from their sites.
As I understand it the “_optout” SSID isn’t about preventing you sharing your own wifi logins accidentally. You have to deliberately decide you want to use the Windows 10 sharing service, and deliberately decide to share a particular SSID with your contacts.
What the “_optout” is about is: Say you have an associate who already knows your wifi password, and has used it to log into your network. Say this associate decides to use the Windows 10 wifi-sharing capability to share your wifi connection details with his windows-using contacts (instead of, say, sending it to his email distribution list, or posting it on Facebook.). Setting the SSID to “*_optout” will prevent this associate from being able to do /that/, and will work on pretty much any piece of wifi hardware you can think of.
Most Steam games automatically back up their save games via Steam Cloud, so you don’t usually have much to worry about in that respect. The only issue I’ve heard regarding gaming on Windows 10 is that it doesn’t always get along with DX11-based games.
Since I upgraded to Win10, I haven’t personally run into any issues with gaming. Your mileage may vary, though.
with regards to a stainless “pizza oven ” .
when it is made from the proper grade (>316) you can heat it to way beyond what is needed for pizza . It will be quite expensive though.
Is it just me or has there been something weird going on with the video versions of the podcast lately? The last two that I’ve watched have had noticeable jumps (e.g. around 1:04:29, and 1:07:28), and there seems to be a 2 minute difference between the video version and the audio version (last week has around a 1 minute difference).
Maybe it’s just me, but in case it isn’t I thought I should say something. Either way, still another interesting episode, thanks!
What is the cloning software you used for your Windows 10 boot drive?
since already snuck in a bit of pronunciation nazi, i don’t feel just as bad pointing this out: leipzig is pronounced ‘lype-tsig’, not ‘lype-sig’.
“wow, facetime is so great! I can video call my family!!”
eh, you guys do know that Skype has existed for like 40 years right? Before facetime was a thing? I video called i the dark ages of 2005!!? can you believe it??!
And yeah, I tried to turn off flash, but like 1/3 of all sites had some issues, and half the time youtube didn’t work. Terrible idea.
Hey man, I’ve been trying to like video conferencing since the 90s (what was that client called…. ICU or something like that? [EDIT: It was CU-SeeMe]) but my point was that I’m finally — FINALLY — getting comfortable with it. I dragged my vanity kicking and screaming into the future, and it took longer than expected to acclimate but I’m finally there.
If you are so concerned about your privacy, I suppose you actively turn off Siri or Goggle now or never give away any of your usage information to Apple or Google since you are so against about the horrible information sharing that Windows 10 and Evil Microsoft is forcing their users to give up. It doesn’t matter that Google sniffs out your Gmail account to better serve advertising that focused on your interests while Microsoft sniffs out your Hotmail to better serve a more effective spam filtering. I suppose giving up information of your travelling habits to Google or Apple is so much better than sharing access to your home router to people that you know without giving them the actual password, even though you would actively have to manually switch it on because it not even turned on at default. It’s terrible how Microsoft gives users an extreme option by offering a way to “_optout” their ssid even though it’s unnecessary. Yeah Windows 10 is a security nightmare.
Wifi sense is a huge security risk according to Will. Microsoft will own all of your data and can do whatever it wants to do with it.
I’d rather share my location and private information with safer companies like Apple and Google.
It’s a shame that articles like this needs to be made when click whores like BGR and The Verge posts investigative journalism on the evil corporation’s master plans. Meanwhile all that a user needs to do is actually read the settings in question and in it’s in simple English! And it takes a spazz like Will to promote the hate because he’s the only person that’s too busy to do his job because he has a child.
This makes sense and it is more likely a feature for businesses or work at home people that has clients that shows up at their home. It’s also a perfect option for guest ssid that are standard in modern routers.
I think its less a problem of Microsoft having the info and rather that everyone knows people that you’d rather couldn’t access your Wifi, If all it takes is an email contact, then what happens if you email your landlord, and now they have wifi access which you might not want. Or some setting gets flipped and a friend of a friend gets access. Anything that opens unintentional wifi holes is not so good. I can keep my system hygienic by good browsing habits, but can all the people who might get that info?
Does no one read what I post? Oh, wait, I guess no one ever did… Anyway, even if Wi-Fi Sense is turned on, you still have to individually select known networks to be shared.
I’m late in watching this episode, and after hearing her name mentioned multiple times in Lego with Friends…Yay for Veronica back on the show!
