In this week’s episode Will, Norm, and Gary are joined by a familiar face, whilst discussing today’s OS X Lion announcement, the first GoogleTV box from Sony, the MyPressi Twist espresso maker, the new MacBook Air, and the perils of iPadding on the toilet. All that, plus a whole lot more on this weeks episode of This is Only a Test.

More like a familiar voice, if that Twitter pic is to be believed.
10 20 20 10… would sound better using the day/month/year order…
mmm… sexy, sexy shoemaker.
also, needs more AHR
I have to admit, that MacBook Air looks sexy, but I have a 17″ Core i7 MacBook Pro, so…no. But if I had to choose between that and an iPad, I’d choose the MacBook Air. And I don’t quite get the “instant on” feature. When I close my MacBook Pro and reopen it, it comes back on in about 2 seconds. I guess that’s 2 seconds too long for some.
One thing that kind of concerns me is Apple’s ultimate plan for it Mac business. Jobs during the keynote kept emphasizing how it’s a $22 billion business, but also kept saying the MacBook Air is the future of its laptops. If all Mac laptops are going to become these underpowered iPad-like devices with soldered-on flash drives and primarily receptacles for its App Store, I’m out.
Even though I’m not a Mac user (sorry, I just love being able to upgrade my rig when ever I want). I still enjoyed listening to the Mac talk.
Have Brad and AHR ever appeared on screen or podcast at the same time?… I’ll let you ponder that for awhile. I’m thinking Ranma 1/2.
love listening to gary since his pcgamer podcast days.
Good to see Brad (hear Brad) on the podcast. I noticed he managed to sneak in a little Starcraft chatter with Norm….
Also, those complaining about the lack of a certain video producer on the podcast need to realize that Will and Norm are keeping a pretty steady rotation of members on the cast, and I think that’s awesome. She’ll be back, i’m sure, but there’s a lot of variation in the podcast members that I very much enjoy.
Amidst all the college freshman with MacBook Pros, that’s exactly what I did with a nice $700 ASUS laptop, which is about as fast as a 15″ MBP if I recall. They may feel superior to me, but I can feel superior back knowing I had a Mac in 2003.
I tend to agree with Will that the direction Apple is taking with Mac OS is slightly unclear. I don’t like the precedent being set that our desktop OSes need to be more like our phone OSes, because how we use our phones and how we use our desktop computers (and laptops) is obviously very different. Oh, and why couldn’t the maximize button ever just cause a window to fill your screen minus the space occupied by the Dock and menubar?
That’s…disturbing
Poor Ana. Everybody pitches a fit when she’s not there because they love her some much. Tested needs to make a Star Trek transporter and make Ana have a transporter accident so that there’s a clone of her. Then everyone will be happy. Well, hopefully the clone isn’t Evil Ana, but I’m willing to take that chance.
MORE BRAD! lol…
Man I love when the bombcast nerds out and straight up talks about pc shit.
Great Podcast
no ana again????? NOOOO!
Well, the very reason they had this early podcast was because of the Apple press conference. It was a significant event in tech world. As tech journalists, it would be pretty much irresponsible to not talk about it.
