  1. Re: Snikt! and Thwip! Whenever the TARDIS appears in a comic book, it’s VWOORP!

    Those are the rules.

  2. Malls have to hire security, bars have to hire bouncers, soccer games have to have referees… maybe you cannot take the reddit business model of “we aren’t responsible for anything that happens in our space” and translate it to VR. maybe the bad PR of VR harassement will bring about new attitudes in social networking business models and management.

  3. Its so weird to have been following that crack in the Antarctic on this podcast. I didn’t expect it to happen that quickly. Its a harsh reality that global warming isn’t a problem we will face in the future but rather a problem we need to face now. Its really irritating that I’ve only heard about this through this podcast. Thanks for informing the tested community about this Kishore. I only wish it was on the minds of everyone else as well.

  4.   In regards to your question about the stolen Star Wars items, yes he has the right to get his property back. I used to be a police officer, and even if you don’t know it’s stolen, possession of stolen property is a crime. So basically, the people who currently have the items do have to return them if the items are found (otherwise they can be charged), and they do have legal recourse against the thief by suing him for the value paid for the memorabilia.

  5. Star Trek original series had the elevator that would go vertical and sideways, w/ the lights that would go horizontally to indicate direction.

  6. As a brit (glad you like London) I wondered if it is possible for you to change the naming format of the shownotes. Every time I go to look, I have to switch my brain over to american date format to find where the current one is, wouldn’t it be easier for all if you used the number first, e.g.

    “TiOaT – Episode 407 Shownotes – 7/14/7”

So that sorting by name, which is default, lists them in order.

  7. Well, I`m going to New York in a couple of weeks. According to what I understand from watching movies, and the current state of the Larsen Ice Shelf, I should keep close to the New York Public Library.

  8. On the locomotion in the Ready Player One image, the floor is a treadmill. Not exactly one to one with the book, but pretty closer.

  9. Thanks for reminding me, as it happens I`ll be in london on monday, I`ll try to see Into the Unknown, looks wonderful.

And just as a notice. I heard that you said you like to watch joshog pubg stream. If you didn`t know he was (is) involved in a CSGO gambling case. Where he owned a gamling site and got kids to gamble skins for a lot of money. http://www.espn.com/esports/story/_/id/16790802/gaming-personalities-embroiled-counter-strike-gambling-scandal There still is some legal action ongoing as far as I know, but people tend to forget quick.

  10. Re: Ranco Obi-wan’s theft. The thief had stolen the prototype Rocket Firing Boba Fett from Phillip Wise (who runs rebelscum.com) out of his shop’s display case in Texas. It was sold to someone else in CA who saw Wise’s post on Rebel Scum and thought he might have just bought it. The buyer didn’t want to name a name and start a witchhunt for the wrong person. The name was suggested by Wise and the buyer confirmed. The buyer listed off some of the other items he purchased from the thief and determined they had to have come from Rancho Obi-Wan.

I hope everyone gets their stuff back. Many probably have no idea that their items were stolen. Sansweet is a nice and generous guy from the interactions I’ve had. I had been an acquaintance of the thief, Carl Cunningham, through the R2 Builder’s Club and hung out with him numerous times at conventions and at a friend’s shop. I feel betrayed too and I didn’t have anything stolen. I can’t imagine what Sansweet and Wise must feel after having a long-time personal friend do something like that. I don’t know what Cunningham’s motivations were. I can only speculate.

  11. Yes! Banana Man! The red shirted kid who ate a banana and became a super-hero, along with his sarcastic crow buddy! I think it was a BBC or British show – it would come on with Danger Mouse (another classic) and Count Duckula (not as good, but had its moments).
