I think this was a fairly good september event from Apple.
Owning no watches today, and looking at fitness trackers, the Apple watch 4 seems like a good alternative. Its cheaper than the Garmin ones, and does look way better and has more functionality.
Also, the X is still a beast by todays standards, so the XR (with worse screen, but better SoC) does look good and compelling at that price point. The A12 bionic will prefrorm well in years to come I believe.
Did you guys shoot this one? Video isn’t available for some reason.
video had the same audio problems as the first upload, so had to re-export it overnight! it’ll be live this morning!
update: new video is live!
Thank you Kishore for the PickleBook reference 🙂
The Apple Watch ECG thing is interesting. I have a heart condition and have had a lot of ECG’s. The only thing that seems like a plot flaw in having this information on your watch is that the average person would have no idea how to interpret the data; as a real ECG printout just looks like some squiggly lines on a graph.
Still pissed about the lack of headphone jack on my iphone7. Needed countless replacements for the adapter. Also annoying that I can ‘t listen while charging. Apple should rebrand into Dapple – the dongle company. I am not in the target group for these expensive phones.
This is the rub. Its super interesting data and prone to user misinterpretation. But thats what Apple is supposedly good at though right? Taking complicated data and visualizing it in useful ways.
There was more info released on the FDA cert today – promising, but not as amazing as they led us to believe. https://www.statnews.com/2018/09/13/heres-the-data-behind-the-new-apple-watch-ekg-app/
512Gb Xs w/apple care in Canada is over $2200 CAD – nope
Then again, iphone died for me with the 6, bought an SE.
But the SE is now discontinued.
Ridiculous fails on the MBPs (touch bar, butterfly keyboard, ports) made me purchase a refurb 2015
iPad, meh. I like my mini but it has fallen behind – expect it to be discontinued too.
Apple, you have “improved the experience” so well it’s pushed me out.
I will ride the devices I have until they die and then that’s it for me and Apple.
Also sticking with my 15 inch 2015 MacBook pro. Has SD card reader, HDMI, USB and display port. Although, I mostly switched to Windows 10 some time ago. Otherwise Hackintosh (as I want a decent sized, 30 inch Screen) with Nvidia GTX980, i7-4790K Quad-Core 4.0 GHz, GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z97MX mother board and 1TB SSD I bought in 2014 and used for 2 years as gaming PC. The Mac prices are just ridiculous for anyone outside the silicon valley bubble but also they don’t have any desktop I would like.
Did Kishore seriously say you can’t expect a 3.5 year old phone to hold its charge?? I think you VASTLY overestimate how often people get new phones.
mentioned Apple couldn’t make a phone without ports because of carplay. Wireless carplay is already a thing. Carplay works over Wi-Fi and many cars have built in Qi chargers.
