Personally I think “Roomscale” may be the downfall of VR. Developers love it because they can develop some spectacular and inspiring demos. The non-VR owning public are fascinated by it because it’s the closest thing to a holodeck. If the industry goes all in with roomscale they will find a consumer market that won’t be getting their wallets out because they don’t actually have an empty room to dedicate to VR. I bought a Rift+Touch because it’s optimized for sitting/standing in front of a computer desk because that’s as much room as I have to spare. It sounds like Quest is a less capable platform developed for a consumer market that might not exist. It’s making a big splash but I bet it doesn’t have legs.
Another year without a Rift upgrade , super disappointing aside from the 3 new games there was nothing rift at this conference.
