Where do you post the show notes?
A while ago I had badgered them into posting their shownotes, and for a while they included a link to them in the youtube descriptions. They do have their Google Drive folder but they haven’t updated it since 3 episodes ago and there is no indication for new users that they exist at all, despite occasional references in-video to ‘show notes’. http://bit.ly/TiOaTShownotes
I came here for this very reason, to remind them that if they’re going to be talking about interesting images, videos, articles or tech shit without making use of their video format by including previews of the subject matter under discussion, they need to do a better job of making it easier for us to find them so we can see what the hell they’re talking about!
This episode for example, I can track down a link to the Avengers Endgame trailer, that’s pretty easy to find with a google search. When it came to the conversation about the CG faces, by the time I was curious enough to go looking for the primary source to get more information, their preamble to the subject was 5 minutes prior, and I had to go look for that bit of the video, pick out the key points of “Medium Article, Kyle McDonald, Identifying CG Faces” which ultimately lead me to an article. This took several minutes and in the process lost where I was in the podcast.
Had they concluded that conversation – after I became interested in it enough to look further into it – with a phrase like “You can find the article at Medium ‘How to recognize fake AI-generated images”, provided show notes with links, or included a preview of the article picture-in-picture style instead of just talking heads, they’d be steps above what they are failing to do now.
You guys can do better.
Agree with the above, I also came here wondering if any show notes with links to what they are talking about.
Also in this day an age where show notes are expected and very helpful, adding chapter markers and chapter artwork would be nice.
As a final suggestion I think a new segment similar to Beastcast’s “Corrections” would be cool, to correct all the incorrect statements made in previous show in a more light hearted way
Link for article on CG images they were referring to:
