Sweet Radiolab homage at the start there Kishore.
The Gundam is actually being designed to walk in place.
I can’t remember which Picard episode it was (ep 2?) but I could swear one of the replicator props was a 21st century 3d printer (maybe even a Makerbot Replicator?) No idea why it would need a z axis and build plate…
“Tea, Earl Grey, Hot”… 6.5 hours later…

Just a note to let you know how incredibly grateful I am for your show. My husband introduced me to “This is Only a Test” several years, and I quickly learned what a great pairing it is to running. The 2+ hour runs are so much more enjoyable with you in my ears. I’ve run hundreds of miles and many races listening to you guys…I can’t thank you enough!!! Keep up the great work 😀
That fear of flying training sounds super cool.
I have been inside the tower of a small(ish) international airport before, which was super cool. There wasn’t much happening while I was in there, but seeing all the screens and cool stuff in there was interesting. And the fact that basically no one (in my mind) ever gets to go inside one of those makes it even more special.
But what topped that experience for me was what came right after, I got to climb ON TOP OF that tower. That’s right, I stood on THE ROOF of an active air traffic control tower. The guide who was showing me around (I needed to inspect some stuff) was like “this rickety little ladder here takes you up. Good luck”. Dude didn’t want to come, too high for his taste (and that ladder creaked ominously too :P). But I didn’t have to be told twice 😀
The view from up there was amazing, seeing the runways unobstructed by anything like that is something. Again, seeing a runway or the top of an airport isn’t anything that should be exciting, but an unobstructed view like that should (in my mind) not be possible to experience for a random human.
Im glad I got to experience that 🙂
