I am optimistic for season 2 of Picard with the addition of Mark Bernardin as a writer. He was briefly an intern on TNG and wrote for the first season of Castle Rock. He is also Kevin Smith’s co-host on the Fatman Beyond podcast and whenever Kevin gushes over something that may have been less enthusiastically received by the public / critics Mark usually comes up with several ways the story could have been improved.
