Tested Builds: LEGO Star Wars, Part 1

Woot! After finishing the LED Hynocube, Will and Norm chase that build with another bout of LEGO! This time, we’re each building separate UCS kits with a comparable number of pieces. Follow along with the build by signing up for a Tested Premium Membership here!

  1. You know, people always tell Jamie and Adam that they have the best jobs. Personally, I think Will and Norm have the best jobs.

  2. I got an idea for a LEGO challenge! Take two different kits of the same colors – Star Wars for example – and mix the bags from both together. Split them one to one without sorting for the kits. Then game on for who can figure out if they have the right bag or wrong bag.

  3. Having built both of these lovely S-Foil opening ships, I can say that this will be quite the build. If memory serves, the X-wing took a bit longer due mostly to the more complicated wing mechanism, but both look lovely on their respective stands. Have fun guys!

  4. MMM lego christmas eve, followed by lego christmas. Its like I am 6 allover again 😀 good times.

    Happy Holidays to everyone.

  5. I have built the B wing kit it is alot of mirror builds also I got it 2 years ago on May the 4th Lego sale for 99 buck best Lego buy ever

  6. Norm & Will – curious in how you store your Legos post build. I imagine that some of your builds remain built but for those that you tear down how do you store the pieces. Do you use some sort of Adam Sortimo box system or just put them all in a giant storage bin?

  7. So you guys made me go look for the video on the snake guy, and I skipped to the end and he totally set himself up for failure. He gets this suit built specifically so that the snake can’t constrict his arms or legs, because that would hurt, of course, but then right before he starts, he has them remove his arm and leg protection. Now how is he supposed to last long enough for a constricting snake to coil around him without his arm and leg protection? Answer, he doesn’t. His arms are wrapped against his body, so, DUH, it gets constricted and he calls it quit, JUST as the snake tries to expand its head to eat him. The snake only “kisses” the top of his helmet. Niether his head or shoulders is ever “swallowed” by the snake. He totally whimped out.

On the Lego side, this is the first time I’ve watched you build a kit, and I thought they would be impossible, but you have shown that it is a very organized chaos. I’m thinking of getting one to try with my daughter. Awesome table top activity!

  8. Hey guys, are these going to be made downloadable. For some reason the new player isn’t working well for me, it would buffer the first minute and then stop. Cheers!

  9. Did anyone else’s Siri kick in when Will was talking about Norm grousing and adding up the time? I’m watching on my iPad and up she pops mid sentence without the trigger phrase, I even replayed it again to make sure

  10. How long before these are downloadable? I don’t want to have to keep streaming GIGs of data everytime I want to watch this series.

  11. Hey, I have just seen the best kit you need to build for your next build off. a Pair of the UCS Helicarriers, would really test you out, as it is massive and also includes motored parts

  12. Still not available to download and STILL can’t change the quality of the vid. I don’t want to have to keep downloading gigs of data to watch these series. If I’m forced to keep downloading at least give us an option to change quality.

Doubtful will bother subbing again next year.
