  1. This series is really making me want to go buy some Monster Clay and try my hand at sculpting. It looks like it would be relaxing and I tend to enjoy things that require this level of focus and creativity. Can’t wait to see how they turn out, gentlemen (and yes, I watched to the end).

P.S. I will be sure to stick my hand into the middle of the microwaved clay in your honour.

  2. Yes Frank, people actually watch this! I wish I could join you guys, but my genes have decided that my fine motor skills are garbage.

Good stuff guys, keep it going!

  3. If you were to sculpt something with the intent to make it move (for instance a foam-latex puppet or even an animatronic), how much do you take that into consideration when sculpting? Do you tend to sculpt first, then think about movement later?

  4. yah, you want to think about where wrinkles will naturally and anatomically occur, and where you are going to put the movements. once you have done the whole process a few times, it all starts to made sense.

  5. This series is awesome! I have no clay at home and can’t really afford to go buy any but I am about to break out the couple tubs of playdoh I have and make something little. I only tried sculpting once in like 7th grade and was awful at it. I also didn’t get any instruction at all. Our teacher just gave us a blob and said make it into something. I really wish tomorrow wasn’t the final episode!!

  6. The first two videos were OK. Frank’s points were made quickly and then the videos didn’t really expand beyond that,

The third video was a huge jump. You could finally see where the technique, artistry and experience come together. Suddenly everything Frank had been saying was visible in 3D, both in the positive sense and the negative sense.

This video went even further. Frank is truly a master at this. What he did with his own sculpture was amazing. But what he did with the work of Norm and Will was astounding. In a matter of minutes he was able to make a handful of changes that transformed the models, from nothing to something. Amazing.

Looking forward to the last installment.

  7. Yes there are people who watch these all the way through and
enjoying them. Its grate content to watch/listen to whilst sculpting and just
watching what frank dose is massively helpful.

Thanks for the series and keep making more like this.

  8. Still watching, and enjoying. By god, Frank, every time you touch something it just transforms into a recognisable face! Would love to join in but I have to concentrate on woodworking.

  9. Thanks so much for this series, i signed up just to see these videos, franks a legend. Heres my first sculpt of an ear using your advice from the first video (super Sculpey)

  10. I signed up for these videos, absolutely loved em’. Wish I could say my first ear was as good as

    More sculpting tutorials!

  11. Everyone needs to be “taken down a notch” when they are at their peak of happiness with a design. That was hilarious! Great job, guys.

  12. I’m still watching, Frank. I like how generously you share knowledge. You’re passing on good info to novices, and you remain tolerant of their abilities. I really enjoy this series.
