LEGO with Friends: Technic 2-in-1 Build Off, Part 1

We go back to our roots in this week’s LEGO with Friends with a straight-up speed build competition! Frank is in town this week to do a build-off with Norm, and to avoid any bias, they’re each building the same set! But with a twist: using the same pieces, they’re going to build completely different models!

  1. even tho your building the same set i know usually the secondary build uses less of the pieces then the main build so not sure if its an even race in terms of pieces each model uses.

  2. Is it my imagination or did the first episode of each of these series used to be free to non-premium members?

  3. I’ve never been convinced about this knolling thing. I’m sure it satisfies the mild OCD a lot of designers and builders have, and it can be easier to find the pieces when you need them instead of rummaging through a big pile, but for my uses it’s more important to have the pieces in trays so they don’t roll off the table. Beyond that it doesn’t matter that much how neat things are before you start.

  4. I agree. To me it’s all aesthetics. I mean, it matters to me that it’s all neat and nice, but not for practical reasons. Trays might well be the more efficient option.

It might be imagination, but I totally imagine the exact same thing.

  5. I bet they stopped doing that because people would be mad that they can’t keep watching it without paying.

  6. I’m not currently, but I used to be a paid premium member. Back then, there first of these build series were available to non-premium members. The reason I signed up was because there were several series where I enjoy the inaugural post and I wanted to see the rest of the series. It was well worth the cost for the premium subscription.

I’d consider signing up again, but it’d be good to get a sample of the other build series.

  7. they used to put the 1st episode on YouTube, as a tease and to get people to sign up, not sure why they stopped, it’s a shame as I’ve missed a few series as I don’t check in to the site that often and waited for the youtube video to let me know about the new videos

  8. This is how I feel about it as well. It looks good all displayed out like that but if i need to move to a knew table for whatever reason I’d much rather have the lego in a nice divided tray
