This Is Only a Test 144 – Things We’ve Lost – 10/18/2012
On this week’s episode, Will loses the thread, Norm loses his patience, and Gary explains why he loves the Bachelorette. All that, plus all the details on Microsoft’s Surface RT, skydiving from the stratosphere, extrasolar planets, iPad Mini rumors, and another edition of fake outtakes. Enjoy!

Time travel is defined by the universe. Some time travel stories make the traveler hold both the memory and physical artifacts from traveling while others may take away the physical harm.
Personally, I think that in time travel stories where the traveler can see time reverting the traveler should keep all artifacts including damage to the physical body.
In something like Price of Persia, the Prince retains memory but his physical body is also affected by time rewinding. Otherwise, the Prince would just keep falling down the pit that he mistakenly jumped into.
I really enjoyed the podcast.
I just thought you should know that the Bible and the Hebrew Scriptures don’t say anything about extraterrestrials one way or the other. While the Quran does talk about aliens.
I live in the United States, and I am blessed to have a home, a car, and some fun tech toys; however, saying “first world problems” is insulting as there are still people starving in the US.
Red Bull have not one, but two F1 teams. Obviously Red Bull Racing is the dominant team, they have a huge budget and the driver & constructor championships in 2010 & 2011 are there for all to see (they are currently winning the 2012 drivers championship and absolutely walking away with the 2012 constructors championship too) but they also have a “B” team, Toro Rosso, which is the Italian translation of Red Bull.
You overpaid 😛 I put together my HTPC for <$300 and it does everything. Now you can probably even do it cheaper. But good for you for getting a full computer as an HTPC!. I've time and again found that to be the only way to "watch everything". I look at them every now and then, but those boxes are always blocked or restricted somehow. No daily show on Hulu? www.comedycentral.com > boom!
I ran the boxee software since the alpha (!) and had hopes for it, but their constant series of poor decisions have led me to abandon it, as they did with the desktop version. I may have defended them 2 years ago but now I agree with Gary; this box sucks and I have no interest in it.
the reasons behind halal are religious, shouldn’t you be kinda against that? Also, it is considered as animal cruelty in Sweden and the act of halal butchering is not allowed (We have imported halal butchered food)
