Show and Tell: Nerf Rival Blasters (with FPV Video!)

These new Nerf blasters are the most powerful we’ve seen! For this week’s Show and Tell, Norm tests the Nerf Rival Zeus blaster that uses new dimpled foam balls and a magazine-based reload system. The rounds fire quickly and launch at an impressive speed. To test its effectiveness in the office, we mount a gimballed GoPro to the blaster. Now where’s Will?

  1. I did an event for Nerf last year and all through the video my training was screaming ‘blasters, blasters, we’re meant to call them blasters’. I must admit it was great fun, I spent the day showing kids how to use five different blasters for a whiole week and getting paid very good scratch to do it.

I got to say though, this looks like it’s gonna get easily jammed and that the darts’ll get squished easily. When we did out event the ‘ammo’ got used so heavily that they became too squishy and jammed up a lot of blasters. Sadly, it’s the higher powered electrically assissted ones that suffer from that the most.

Of course, I’d wager the reason that Nerf don’t improve the longevity of the darts and such because they want to sell more darts. Sadly, a lot of people just think it’s the blasters themselves and junk them, which is a shame. No doubt though, Nerf Blasters are real fun. Especially when you’re paid to play with them.

  2. Glad to see that Wills last few weeks @ Tested are being spent “productively” 🙂

The FPV video looked good even with norm moving around a lot. It added a bunch to the viewing experience.

  3. Wait what! Will is leaving!
WTH! How and where did I miss this? Cool product really cool video I want your
jobs. Anyways Hope your next endeavor Will, is fun and exciting for you and wish
you all the best of luck.

  4. Oh, so that’s what you guys call “work” around Tested… hellish, is what it is, I’m certain of it.

Bee-tee-dubs, what is that “animated crinkled tin-foil” frame/picture thingy in the background? I totally love it – it’s mesmerizing!

  5. I was under the impression they couldn’t make ball ammo anymore because kids were getting eyes poked out and such?

I remember the old ones that used the good ball ammo, those actually had allot of power without needing batteries.
