Tested Makes Gourmet Space Food for Astronaut Chris Hadfield
Jamie and Adam chat with astronaut Chris Hadfield about the limitations of food preparation on board the International Space Station. While astronauts can’t really cook their own meals, Jamie and Adam challenge celebrated chef David Chang with the task of devising a recipe that Commander Hadfield can test…in space!

This was really something special. Great work!
Wow, nice scoop Tested!
This site truly delivers.
That was… AWESOME!
Incredible, How did you manage to get an exclusive video with Chris?
Wow, wow, wow. I’m completely stunned by the work required for this video. You guys weren’t kidding that we were in for something great.
Awesome video guys.
man this is really amazing stuff.. huge feature unique to tested. definitely will increase exposure for our beloved tested.com
I guess it’s unnecessary weight and waste bringing extra bags just for mixing food.
reusable containers are out because of the lack of running water to wash them.
Space is still super awesome. This was really entertaining to watch guys. Thanks!
This was massively cool and interesting.
You know you’ve made it when you fucking make a video with an astronaut. Awesome video. I got a hell of a laugh out of the “asparagus explosion.”
That was mean…. But funny

Sooooo Goooood.
indeed!
Wow.
Holy shit, really? Well done guys.
This is a really great video and truly one of the better on this site. It’s also a great example of what Jamie and Adam can bring to the site. I do think people exaggerate though, the greatest part is that NASA does this kind of stuff, not that Will and Norm had to work their hardest ever.
You should give NASA more credit. They do media stuff with schools, journalists and a lot of other people all the time. That’s among the best things about Hadfield and his work in space but it also means that you don’t need to “have made it” to talk to him. They are still incredibly lucky of course.
Edit: I have to say that this video is for people who like space, Hadfield, Jamie and Adam. That’s fine, I like all those things. But it still makes me sad that a lot of people who watch this video don’t even know who Will is, and Norm isn’t even in the video!
Holy moly, Tested has come a long way. To space even.
Just fantastic. Can’t wait to see more from this series.
This is a great use of that Mythbusters access.
Well that was incredible!
Fantastic post! I would like to see a gravity ring around the ISS.
Check that off the list, Food preparation in space, TESTED!
Congrats on your amazing video, its incredible to see how Tested has evolved and the places you’ve managed to bring the site!
That was a nice surprise. I don’t know what is rarer the wild astronaut or the wild hyneman
It*ll end up in an air vent grill pretty quickly, as does everything else you let float freely onboard the ISS.
I wonder if they’ve tried eating with chopsticks on board the ISS? It seems like at least the asparagus would be easier to eat with pinching utensils.
That floating tethered pair of scissors is terrifying. Cmdr Hadfield doesn’t even wear glasses to keep those things from stabbing into his eyes.
Wow. Wowwwwwww. Wowwww! Absolutely fantastic. I’ve enjoyed Chris’ videos for the past few weeks and it was sad to see him leave the ISS (although it’s great that he is home safely!)… so this collaboration with Tested is an unexpected bonus. Thank you to everyone involved 🙂
I think I’ve never been that fascinated by someone eating.
Can’t wait for next week.
It’s so crazy how far this site has gone. From goofy tech gadgets to talking to astronauts IN SPACE.
I love the Commander because he’s leveraged his internet access and youtube so well to make space INTERESTING to normal people, not just those of us who are interested in space. We need more folks like him!
Should call all these segments “Tasted” lol.
That was great!!!!!
WOW. Great Job.
This is amazing. I’m loving seeing Tested grow as a site. Hopefully Will and Norm get more airtime, too.
