Adam visits the California Academy of Sciences to meet one of its Giant Pacific Octopuses and chat with marine biologists to learn about Octopus intelligence. Back at the cave, he designs and builds a feeding puzzle to give to the Cal Academy to help stimulate the GPO!

What’s the timeline on this? The initial bit said 2016… was this build then, too? or is it more recent?
the build was in 2016, and the rest of the series is the follow-up from earlier this year!
I’ve always wanted to build something like this. Hurry up and post part 2.
I can’t believe you hide this from us for 2 years! Who knows how many projects you have in the shade! 🙂
Only Adam can accidentally remake Denis Villeneuve’s Arrival
On this shoot, I learned that octopuses aren’t subject to our filming timelines. Like at all.
Rich Ross is just a weird, amazing dude. His house was even stranger and cooler than we captured in the piece.
Loved the editing on the build timelapse. Can’t wait for the next parts!
Streams are crossing. I know Rich Ross from Penns Sunday School.
Were you using the heat gun for re-clearing scuffed areas from the file? I was watching some acrylic buffing videos recently, like ya do, and people were taking matte acrylic and buffing it with jeweler’s compound and heat guns to get the clarity back.
I randomly took an improv class he guest taught years ago.
@sciencequiche can you share the reason for such a delay? I feel like there’s a story behind that.
Just saw part 2, ***Spoiler Alert*** the original octopus died and I guess they had to wait for another XD
The sound of sanding acrylic at 15:20 are like the anti ASMR. Absolute shivers down my spine, like cardboard edge against cardboard face.
