Adam Savage’s One Day Builds: Drafting Tools Sorting Drawer!
Adam has been showing off his collection of drafting tools, including angle finders and circle drawing templates. It made him realize he needed a better sorting and storage solution to keep these tools in good condition and still be easily accessible when he needed them. Today’s build addresses that: a workbench-mounted flat drawer that organizes and knolls out these beautiful tools. And of course, it’s going to be made out of hot glued foamcore!

As a manufacturing engineer it is interesting to me that Adam conflates “Drafting tools” (drawing on paper) and “Layout tools” (drawing on parts/materials.) Similarly, I was yelling at the screen in the Samaritan build when Adam used an “engineering drawing” by cutting out the side view of the hammer and pasting it onto a piece of material. “Aaaarg! That’s not how you use an engineering drawing !!!”

I mean, you’re not necessarily wrong….
Drafting tools are a type of layout tool, so maybe, the drawer is a “layout tool drawer”
I made a drawer once, layed a sheet of cork on the bottom surface and it made a satisfying difference.
