  1. According to my Chef friends and references because we started to talk about this when the podcast was playing. Candle Salad appears in cookbooks and references in the early 19-teens . It was a trick by parents as an easy way to get kits to eat fruit because of the unusual look and fun appeal. “It was also considered a child-friendly introduction to cooking because of its simple construction.” -Wiki

  2. Went straight to the candle salad on google, no contest the strangest non-irony food in the known universe. Have these people never seen conventional biology, or is procreation really such a mystery in some circles? I guess it is the perfect food to prove how asexually adept you can be when meeting your church group. If nobody snickers, your next hot bun at the baking sale will be at a 50% discount.

Seriously, that dish wouldn’t fly here in Denmark, even among our more devout family members.

  3. , you spelled colour wrong. 😉

I’ve been looking everywhere for an answer to a question; does anyone know why the tour isn’t coming to Western Canada this time around?!

Awesome podcast guys! Thanks Adam, for the kind words about Canada.

    what!?…i dont even….

  5. Anyone else not feel bad for Norm when he was scolded by Adam. Man was he put in his place. Great podcast yet again.

  6. Of course, Larry David has covered shorts and traveling.

“Let me give you a little tip, for traveling. A little traveling tip. Try not to wear shorts.”

  7. Flying on Thanksgivings and Christmas is low key and a perfect time to travel. Candle salad? Oh, man…Happy Thanks for the Land, Indians not really from India Day…

  8. HA!!! I WON TICKETS!!

My local Cable TV station had a FB contest to win tickets to Behind The Myths in Windsor, Ontario, Canuckistan and I got 4 of ’em… My wife promptly cancelled her theatre rehearsal that night and I wrangled up two other lovely ladies to accompany us (My hair dresser and a friend of ours who is ASMing my wife’s play) to bring with us, because when fortune smiles on a fellow, the best thing he can do is share it with the important women in his life.

So if a balding ginger fellow in a damn fine hat is caught sneaking in backstage, do my wife a favour and take him with you, ok ,-)

    Have a fantastic Thanksgiving

  9. About the clip: Planes get hot? Really? Pretty much every time I sit in a window seat, I have to ask the flight attendant for a blanket to put between me and the side of the plane because it gets so cold.

  10. I try very hard to always avoid ads wherever I go but I am willing to fill in that survey if it helps you guys out.

  11. I celebrate thanksgiving the traditional way.

Step 1: Take out a government loan.

Step 2: Use the money to purchase a car.

Step 3: Drive to your neighbors house.

Step 4: “Discover” your neighbors house and plant a flag.

Step 5: Infect your neighbors with some serious flu and hand them some blankets, then kick them out and rearrange all their furniture.

Step 6: Tell them you’re sorry and let them move into the shed in the back yard and hold poker games tax free.

I’m too warm on planes just about all the time. True, I typically am a little on the warmer side. I usually need the air blowing on me to cool down. Cramped space packed in with a bunch of people – that’s a lot of body heat!

  13. from the Filthy, Dirty and never heard of candle salad.

sweet potato casserole with pecan topping is the side I leave for last. Pretty much dessert before the dessert.

  14. Hah, I flew on Thanksgiving this year, and to San Francisco of all places! It was my first time in SF ever. I live in San Diego, which is a small airport but on Thanksgiving there was only one person in front of me when I went through security. I was on the terminal side of security in literally under five minutes. FIVE MINUTES.

  15. OMG, I can’t believe you mentioned Tommy’s Joint! I was staying at the Opal, right across the street! Dammit, I should have went there! I know nothing about SF, and you mention the place across the street from where I was staying. Crazy!

BTW, we had an extremely expensive Thanksgiving dinner at Bourbon Steak, inside the Westin. It was incredible.

  16. My parents do the whole second coffee signal, i asked my mum about it and she said it came from their parents and back in the 20’s 30’s 40’s kinda thing the second offer of coffee was a signal that well you’ve had one coffee for the road and two will keep you up all night so better head off to your home

  17. Does anybody know if there is any special even for Premium Tested members during the Behind the Myths tour? Or do you have to purchase VIP tickets to the show?
