The Order of Operations – Still Untitled: The Adam Savage Project – 8/22/17

Tested’s own Jeremy Williams joins us this week chat about how we each watched the recent Eclipse, Adam’s latest machining projects, and how we plan out the order of operations for our own projects. Plus, an appreciation for HBO’s documentary series The Defiant Ones!

  1. Hey ! the Indiana Jones Sankara
Stones were found ? (The ones behind Jeremy) !?

    Regarding the comment on
machinists being a dying art, I personally don’t think it is, but they have
become pretty rare these days, especially when fining good ones (I’m talking no
CNC’s but manual milling and lathe). I had 3 manual machinist in my team during
my last 15-year job, they are very much needed when you don’t produce in high
quantities (bulk). From what I’ve seen, they still teach manual milling
and lathe in some colleges to become a technician. So I don’t think this knowledge will die soon.

  2. I live in Scottsville Ky and it was a full eclipse and it was awesome. I live near one of the best areas to view it.

  3. I saw Totality in Missouri ! Incredible and all pictures I’ve ever seen do NOT match seeing a Total Eclipse with one’s own eyes. Stunning and awestruck. We will send pictures soon 🙂

  4. Slogged from the Bay Area up to Madras, OR for totality. Everyone should see this thing before they die. F*ing mind-blowing.

    Also, the Aurora Borealis.

  5. Jeremy is correct — there are two, one year apart in the U.S. But (but) the first one is an annular eclipse, not a total eclipse.

Norm may be thinking of the programming language Logo (but that’s more like the 70’s).

  6. Ozark gets better and better, the Jason Batemans character constantly puts you on edge to who he really is behind that family man/scared front he puts on.

  7. weird I just got done watching an Alec Steele vid where he was talking about Adam and order of operations while machining and then this episode came out.
