Castle in the Sky has some scary moments, including people falling a very long way and the camera follows them all the way down. There are some beautiful scenes though, and some great comic moments. Mark Hamill does the voice for the baddy in the English language version.
In other news, I thought I saw an arm from one of the robots from Castle in the Sky in Tony Stark’s workshop in Age of Ultron.
Obscure anecdote alert. When I first started school at age 5, in 1974, my first Reader book* included the Vickers Viscount plane by name, which was my first encounter with silent letters. Yes, it’s a passenger prop plane.
*(though I had already taught myself to read at age 4)
Speaking of The Borrowers, you should watch The Secret World of Arrietty, Studio Ghibli’s adaptation of that story, if you haven’t done so already.
I noticed something pretty quickly watching the movie “Where The Wild Things Are”. I couldn’t see the TV at the time but I could hear it when he went into “the Wild”. This is kind of a fan theory. Listen to just the audio and tell me I’m wrong.
When Max runs away from home he comes across homeless people. Being a small child the homeless, by appearance, seem to be monsters.
Trolls baby! Resistance is futile
The Spirited Away commentary is upcoming, right? I will be sure to watch that.
Though Adam’s comment was tongue-in-cheek, I’m glad this cast was politics-free! Hopefully that continues!
So, there will be a one-day-build for the chair and boxes????
