I enjoyed Rise of Skywalker. I do think this trio of films comes with baggage of viewer expectations more than most. Listening to the criticisms of this one reminds me of my issues with Last Jedi which were basically moments that would take me out of the film. It did feel like Abrams picked up the bare minimum of Last Jedi and just made a sequel to Force Awakens.

I think they missed the subtle not-so-subtle story close for Finn, in that it becomes obvious that he is force sensitive. I don’t know why they didn’t show him waiting on the Falcon in the closing scene as Rey’s apprentice, but I think that is the expected arc for him/her.
Someone needs to tell Adam that Joonas Suotamo has been playing Chewbacca since The Force Awakens… guess he couldn’t tell.
