  1. Gigolo81 just commented on your Blog: “TiVo SchmiVo: Your PC can do it better. Here’s how.”.

Thanks these two programs has made my life alot easier, don’t need to manually search for my TV Programs now.

If there are any other tools you use with Usenet can you post some information about them, would be appreciated.”

  2. Whoo, podcast. Tried to listen live, but Justin.TV wasn’t having any of it. Now I’ll be able to listen during work tomorrow. Keep up the good work, Smith/Chan/Whitta!

  3. The link takes me to a web page that just has a player for the podcast. How do you get it into a separate file to download?

  4. Right click the link and click “save as” or “save link as” or whatever your browser says to that effect

  5. Is there going to be a need feed to subscribe to on iTunes or will the new episodes just run into the old feed at some point?

  6. Is there going to be a need feed to subscribe to on iTunes or will the new episodes just run into the old feed at some point?

They should just run into the old feed, I would assume.

so far, the old feed still doesn’t work. thanks for the direct-link! (although I only saw this after I used a firefox plugin to “steal” the file from the player :P)

  7. My Zune client can no longer find the Tested podcast. Previously it downloaded the new episode automatically.

Word, I’m having the same issues. It’s forcing me to learn how to use my iTunes sorting options to make the download appear as a podcast!

  9. Thank you for finally admitting that the transition between sites was botched, learning from your mistakes is key!

Awesome podcast, been a while since I watched live but definitely glad i did 🙂

  10. Is the separate fake outtakes section still necessary? I don’t actually mind it really, I’m just curious if it’s still a necessary feature for the podcast when you’re talking about basically the same stuff now throughout anyway. Even a few of the things you talked about in fake outtakes here were things posted on the site. You’ve probably been asked this a few times now but oh well.

Pretty great episode this time though, regardless of my meandering complaint!

  11. I still don’t understand how the guys fell for that Jarno video. It’s obviously bad CG.

Loved the podcast, as I always do 🙂 One question, could you merge the podcast video page with the audio page? Have both audio and video on the same page and not have two different pages with comments. Should be easy enough.

  12. Not when I have to plug my ipod in to transfer said downloaded mp3, versus getting it over iTunes!! This is ruining my day people!

mp3 played via safari, but apparently didn’t buffer and cut out half way through my dog walk this morning. Hoping I can buffer enough at work to listen to it on my way home. This is like the dark ages!

  13. If we ever use giant ducks that eats and poop us for transportation can I use my Kindle (in a ziplock) the whole way?

  14. Uhhhhhh, the fixed RSS feed caused my iTunes to download every episodes again! xD I was wondering why I had 131 “new” podcasts 3 hours after I tried to dowload this episode. Thanks for getting it fixed , even if it had a pretty hilarious side effect!

  15. On the topic of small observations which lead to big things I’d reckon Fractals would be the most recent one off the top of my head.

  16. I’m not sure where all the science stuff is going. It’s fun, it’s interesting and i’m way into the sciences. But Norman and Gary don’t have much to say about those articles. Aside from funny comments.

You can’t really have opinions about these types of things because they’re just events, unless they’re contentious events. And frankly, you guys don’t have the knowledge or the background to comment on these types of things.

Which, for me, is sort of disturbing. Because i like my science to be truth. When you guys start hypothesizing or fabricating claims it puts me off. And it’ll eventually happen with these types of articles, people will write in, in the hundreds, attempting to correct you guys.

I love reading about these tech and science advances in your website, but if you’re trying to have a discussion about it with uninformed people it starts to get a bit hazy.

These are my thoughts and i’m aware these concerns might originate from recent changes to the site. You guys might do the science thing right, for all i know.

I suppose keep at it, and if you’re starting to get a lot of things wrong. Or you’re spouting misinformation I implore you to lighten up on the science. Either way i love listening to you guys, and I’m still a regular reader of your site. (But you guys really need to get the RSS feed up).

  17. Unlike Gary I don’t think the PS Vita is “Doomed”. After having a play with it yesterday I was really impressed! Considering trading in my iPad to buy one as that’s a shit device which has huge!!! mainstream success, so why not the Vita as well!? Too early to call.

  18. Oh… cause I can’t edit I’ll post again! I agree with Will on the iPad screen, should have come next year, lighter this release with better graphics and emphasis on speed. Looking at the new screen… ehh?.. The OS is too barren to take any kind of advantage from it, just looks sharper?.. Fascinating how people get suckered into marketing as it really isn’t a big enough leap on this UI to justify the weight gain.

Uh, why would UI be the reason for a screen upgrade? Better DPI is obviously better for the stuff people mostly use the iPad for, stuff that requires alot of text (books, websites magazine) and images (magazines, comics, websites.)

  20. Understandable. I meant no negative insinuation by what I said. I want nothing but the best for this place through and through. I will say I appreciate you guys acknowledging the very mismanaged sudden change of the site and site families in the show. It hurts to see my favorite sites go from one big family to divided and in doubt.

But, the reason I said you were suspect was more or less related to your refusal to acknowledge Adam and Jamie’s new show early on in the podcast. It doesn’t seem like much, but it stuck with me when I listened and I wondered why you would openly not want to mention the show by name if it’s related to the site you work for.

That being said, I loved this episode. Classic all of the way. Would you rathers and the team was clicking like usual with fake outtakes. I really love listening to those bits with you guys.

  21. I agree with you 100% about people being overly connected and how they have become detached from what’s actually going on around them in the real world.

I think you are really on to something here and I think this would be a decent premise for a Screenplay.

  22. The player controls could use a bit more identification. Half way through I actually had to think for a moment which was the seek bar. Yes the volume icon is over there, but it’s over there. 😉 There’s nothing on:hover to indicate that I can move the playhead.

Aside: Youtube’s new preview frames on the seek bar are pretty awesome.

  23. About connectivity addiction, did Will and Norm ever try not using the interent at all for a period of days? They had that idea a long time ago but I don’t think they ever tried it.

  24. Will is fucking insane, the ipad3 is so incredibly light. I held it for hours at a time and it felt like a feather. I don’t want technology to feel any lighter than it is now. I held it with a thumb and a finger inbed and read for several hours in bed.

Fuck you Will, you are wrong…
