  1. The current Chess World Champion and World No.1 ranked player, Magnus Carlsen, played a game in 2010 (before being world champion) organized by one of his sponsors. Three top grandmasters suggested moves and an internet audience voted on which move to play. While the players suggesting moves would have individually put up a decent fight, no cohesive strategy was possible in such a format so it was pretty much a novelty exhibition. Carlsen was winning the entire time and was never really in a dangerous position.

  2. Most people see sapphire glass everyday besides the iPhone’s lenses, its the glass used on scanners at grocery stores that the clerk slides the product on.

  3. Great cast duders.

Social interaction is pretty much our meat bag brains running super complex database queries subconsciously. I think hit it on the head, Google is the first step to true AI.

  4. IMO the best talkshow on tv is The Late Late Show, don’t care much for the rest, though Letterman and Conan are at least watchable. Craig is pretty much the only one who throws out loved segments before they get stale, and manages to turn *any* guest into somethng worth watching… he managed to get a decent interview from Paris Hilton, twice.

No other host could pull off doing an interview with Stephen Fry about gay rights and sexual abuse in Africa, opera and the Holocaust, that included a jew joke… after opening the show with a “gay, robot skeleton sidekick”.

  5. I’m with Will on the whole iWatch thing.

But there’s a reason that’s important and not mentioned: you can’t use a “smart” watch 1-handed. You can use a phone 1-handed no problems. But a watch takes 2 hands to do anything with, and provides less functionality then a phone.

  6. Craig is the best. By the way, Jeff Robert Thompson that plays the robot has a podcast that is quite unique. Turns out he is also a geek!

  7. Yeah, he’s a big horror-nerd in particular. I’ve listened to a few of his podcasts, he’s a funny dude. He does some epic rants.

  8. very true…every time complains about his neighbours or his ex it makes me cringe a little but the last one was amazing where tells off comiccon for not giving him a weekend pass by listing his nerd cred. So funny!

  9. I’m actually building a MAME cabinet right now, modeled to be identical to a Donkey Kong cab. I think they have a lot of benefit. I would love to own 9 or 10 actual arcade cabs, but live in an apartment so there’s just no room. This is my solution. There’s two major online. arcade communities in the U.S.

KLOV is known for authentic and restoring original arcade cabs, so they tend to be anti-MAME.

But BYOAC is more about building your own cabinet, and tends to use MAME and other emulators to their advantage. http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/

    Both are great

  10. I love you guys I really do but please please please let Loyd come in to talk PC hardware because the amount of things that Norm got wrong was just staggering.

    1. Maxwell is a “Tock”, Keplar was a Tock, the Tick was the 700 series.

    2. It came out in 2012

    3. These chips are important not now but in 3-6 months when the true 800 series drops due to, increased efficiency, a cpu on the chips which will allow for smarter allocation of resources, and finally the die shrink down to the 20 nm production. The only reason that they are starting with the a 750 and not with an 880 is because TSMC is not ready for production yet.

    4. Nvidia typically leads with the best card and then fills in the rest of the line.

  11. You can totally watch PS4 streams on the Xbox One. I’ve watched my friend stream his PS4 out and watched it there. It’s just a replication of Twitch, it doesn’t block out anything the main site doesn’t.

  12. Grrr. I use the ASUS router the 56U and my heart literally sank when I heard the part of the podcast.

I have an external hard drive attached to it so double yuck.

Still if you think im going to spend 2+ hours on this to “fix it”, you are crazy.

  13. the word your look for in the comcast statement is “accretive”, pronounced ah CREE tive – it means that shareholders should expect incremental benefits from the transaction in the amounts he stated (or vaguely hinted at).

    Finance Talk. 🙂
