  1. HA! I laughed so hard at story that you only played about a quarter of Saints Row 4 and stopped at the fake ending. I also fell for the fake ending.

  2. Podkicker Pro is a pretty nice Android podcast app. Don’t know about syncing across multiple devices, but it does pretty much everything else one might need from a podcast listening app.

  3. It just occurred to me that will has probably been intentionally mispronouncing things this whole time. excellent trolling.

  4. Hahahaha! I feel honored that you would play the dubstep theme on fake episode 200 ;D

…I also feel like I should be ashamed.

  5. The guy with the podcast app question should look into Pocket Casts. It’s supposed to be able to sync progress across Android and iOS.

  6. A special birthday (for me) episode of this is only a test?!?! AND Dubstep? Does this day get any better?

  7. I dont know if most people is familiar with the “attack on titan” anime.

but there’s an AWESOME indie unity game based on this anime

If you like chalenging games with a nice learning curve, I can’t recomend it enough.

Just google “Attack on Titan Tribute Game”

  8. For podcasts, I use Feedly to keep track of what I have to listen to, then just download it to whatever device I’m using at the time (phone, PC, SD card on my car, etc).

  9. I had to leave the YouTube page after ignoring one of the most important life rules and reading the comments.

p.s Welcome back Gary! Always enjoy the podcast even more whenever you’re on the show.

  10. Sorry guys, but saying that the Titan Z is for gaming is a bit silly. Especially with the fact that every time they mention the popularity of the card, they mention science uses, not gaming. Titans are certainly sold for gaming, but they are very popular for research, and for workstations that need real-time capabilities for a pipeline that benefits from interactivity.

  11. It was really great to hear Gary back on the podcast, and a great lineup of topics this week. I actually listened to the entire thing twice at work today. :p

  12. Definitely missed Gary! Hope to see a four chair podcast next week with Jeremy and Gary, that would be great.

  13. Also recommend pocketscasts, like mixedupzombies wrote it syncs playback position between phone and tablet. Also does auto downloading and auto deletion. But no pc version, not a problem for me as I switched to mobile devices for podcasts.

  14. Best podcast client for syncing I know of is gpodder and its web service gpodder.net . You login on your gpodder client on the web service. After this all your devices know what podcasts you are following, which episodes you have listened to already and playback state of the episodes you are currently listening. Service also includes a crowdsourced podcast directory. Plus both the service and client are opensource.

the first party gpodder client supports Linux, FreeBSD, Windows, Mac OS X, the Nokia N9, Blackberry 10 and Sailfish OS. I use it on my linux pc and nokia n9 phone.

For Android there seems to be a group of third party clients (google gives Detlef Gpodderson as first results for me), which integrate with the web service. full list is on the gpodder.net wiki

Sadly there there seems to be no IOS client for iphone or ipad. Apparently a developer is trying to get a client working for iOS but it is not ready yet.

  15. Great episode

Like I’m also a windows/android/ios guy (S3 & Ipad2), cross platform is barely an issue for me.

The only apple apps I tend to use nowadays are facetime (for the parents but I’ve moved them over to hangouts recently) & find my friends. The only apple app that is actually better than others out there is imessaage, the way it syncs across devices and switches between SMS/Data is brilliant. Yet, the ubiquitous nature of whatsapp negates that in my circle of friends. Google apps and dropbox solve a lot of my cross platform difficulties.

Anyway my point was to explain my podcast solution. I use doggcatcher on my S3 and that’s it, there’s little need to use any other app as my phone is always with me and can stay in my pocket as I move across a room or place to place. It does the auto-download/auto delete options do what I need and the widget is fine.

That being said no one on any platform has made a great podcast player solution. Nor is there a good twitter app on android.

I wish tweetbot makers would work on an android version and then make a podcast app.

  16. The whole bit where Gary talked about screenwriting was really interesting. A round table with Lindelof, Gary, Vince Gilligan, Neil Druckmann & Adam would be really cool. Not going to happen but yeah, that would be cool.

  17. I will add another vote for Pocket Casts, it is the best I have found and the developers have been so responsive with any problems that arise in the app.

  18. The Titan Z only has 6GB of VRAM. Ii does have 12GB physically on the board but since its two GPU’s, the VRAM is split between them. VRAM doesn’t stack in SLi (or CF for that matter), and the two GPU’s is bridged with internal SLi. So even if you have two Titan Z and 24GB of physical VRAM, the game can only allocate 6GB.

  19. I thought this was a fantastic discussion on the Oculus buyout. It all made a lot of sense and there were a number of things in there I hadn’t thought about. The best analysis I’ve heard about it anywhere.

  20. That being said no one on any platform has made a great podcast player solution. Nor is there a good twitter app on android.

    Podcasts: Pocket Casts

    Twitter: Twidere.

Far and away the best podcast and Twitter applications I have used on Android, your last sentence is really untrue, Falcon Pro is another great Twitter client. I don’t miss Tweetbot at all as an ex-iPad owner.

  21. The Xbox One controller, when it’s ready for PC, will not need a dongle. It will connect via USB. Wireless as far as we know. Won’t be an option.

Also another vote for PocketCasts on Android and iOS. They recently added Chromecast support for Android.

  22. Yep! Also chiming in to say that Pocket Casts is great. I have an iPhone and a Nexus 7 and once the download settings are set the same, and both are logged in, I can just pick up either device and I have all the right podcasts downloaded and they are all synced to the right places.

PS Nice to hear from Mr Whitta again!

I’ve tried pocketcasts, it’s good just like dogcatcher is good. But I maintain no one has made a really good solution. They all do little things well but not everything

Never heard of twidere, I’ll have a look. Thanks for the suggestion
