Hey Jeremy – did I catch a glimpse of a Pontiac Firebird/Trans Am screaming chicken logo on the back of your jacket as your were leaning forward at the start of the podcast?
When I met Norm at SDCC, I just simply said “Norm, I found you!” and went on my way. The second time I found Norm, the next day, I got a picture and said something to the effect of “I found you again!”

Naphtha is specifically a group of liquid hydrocarbons, a fairly wide term that applies to many different compounds. But yeah, most people know the term as a solvent, for cleaning or dilluting.

Ah, yes! Cleaning pinball playfields, that’s how I knew about that stuff. Never tried it, just heard about it in videos.
Free shrugs. I think Norm is going to maybe put it on their 8X at some point. He’ll probably talk about it once he’s spent some time with it.

Thanks Jeremy (and sorry about getting the user name wrong on my original post!) I see that the logo does incorporate the TA screaming chicken icon so I’m glad that I wasn’t hallucinating 🙂 Any background you can share on how the Firebird symbol came to be part of the SFPD logo?

I’m curious, is there any prospect for making replacement quadcopter rotors with the MakerBot?
I think it’s just a play on the real SFPD logo, but using the screaming chicken instead (I had no idea that’s what that was called, but Smokey & The Bandit was my favorite movie as a kid).
Smokey and the Bandit was my favorite too! As soon as I was old enough, I bought myself a Firebird (1975 Formula 350 model). Bought it from the first owner on Saturday, May 8, 1982 – 34 years later I still own it!
Is it just me or is the audio slightly distorted? Sounds a bit like clipping…
