  1. Travel digital security tip(s):

    1. Bring a USB charging cable for your phone that only has power (no data capabilities), or make one yourself.

    2. Turn off wireless when you aren’t using it.

    3. Setup a personal Tor bridge in AWS with scramblesuit support, and force https in your browser.

  2. The one thing I miss about E3 is Kentia Hall, otherwise known as the basement of E3. That’s where you saw all the super weird stuff.

  3. I think astigmatism is actually where the cornea isn’t spherical so the lens can’t focus correctly in more than one perpendicular plane at a time.

  4. About card skimmers at gas stations, ATMs etc.:

    Since some of the skimmers criminals use are so indistinguishable, it’s a smart idea to cover the keyboard with your wallet while you enter your PIN. This way even if they manage to copy your card, they still can’t use it (at least as easily).

    Same applies for Chip&PIN readers at shops/restaurants etc. But as far as I understand, due to license fees they just now starting to appear in the US. (Card transactions in Europe have mostly switched from magnetic strips and signatures to chips and PIN numbers years ago, but since american banks have been reluctant to pay for the relevant licenses, they are finally starting to appear now that the patents have started to expire.)

  5. Is a Pebble video or writeup in the works? I’m interested but I don’t think anything was mentioned about a quick look or review.

  6. I think you’re on to something. duke nukem used to make me feel soo sick back in the day but i can play tf2 all day

  7. How can it be possible that you can’t get fiber direct to the house?

    My brother is getting fiber installed in his house, there is a one time cost of about 2000 $ to install it and then he can chose between a range of different cable providers that use the fiber.

    And he lives in a small town of less than 1000 people far away from anything.

  8. Ok, this is totally unimportant, but Norm’s “no one in the Baye Area has air conditioning” comment made me lol and lol and lol.

    You need to get out of the city some time, dude.

  9. Haha ya i thought that sounded wrong also.

    If you give a computer Artificial Intelligence it cant have emotion, sympathy or empathy, and youve just created an extremely smart psychopath. Such a bad idea.
