  1. No video this week?

Will said on Twitter that they had “technical difficulties”. So I wonder if it has something to do with the lack of a video?

  2. As always, I look forward to these every week and was not disappointed. Thanks for keeping it up!

Just wanted to note that Xbox accounts can be transferred to another country (region).

  3. Regarding the discussion about command prompt.

There are aliases for common unix commands (ls, rm, mkdir, etc) in powershell. So give that a try instead of the normal command prompt. It is also much more powerful when you want to write windows scripts.

  4. Finished “The Martian”, which I got thanks to the Tested recommendation. Definitely a good read. I also had to pause and think ” parallel or series? “.

Interesting psychosomatic feature of this podcast, I kept feeling the need to clear my throat to stop the gurgling breathing sound…

  5. I guess you didn’t mean ‘alias’, you meant ‘equivalent’. In the context of shell commands (and also in file management), aliases are something else.

  6. Wow, that Samus suit is a thing of beauty – incredible finish, especially the glove!

I wonder of the guys fancy a trip up to Washington to do a feature on it 😀

  7. See. This is what I was referring too in your last Apple iPhone 6/6+ review video.

Jeremy would have been the perfect person to do that review with Let sit that one out, and let Jeremy do his thing.

Like Will, he also has 100% pure, Tim Cook-approved, Apple Juice running through his veins.. 😄

  8. well… ls , rm and mkdir in powershell are aliases to powershell equivalents 🙂

Edit: should have read the whole thread before responding. ..

  9. You and Jeremy mentioned playing Plex through the Apple TV. If you use your MBP or MBA to play your Plex server(Web Browser), you can then airplay to your Apple TV. Its a bit hitchy…I usually have to reboot my MBA fresh to get it to work, but it works fine.

Also I was laughing when you went to play music knowing you muted or volume- when that CNN vid played. We were yelling…Your volume Will your volume! Great Job! As always.

More book review podcasts…please…. Wayward Pines trilogy, or Second Ship trilogy

  10. Apparently the “Windows 9” as a version check string is way more common than people would like to believe. Some other interesting version-checking issues detailed in this reddit comment: http://www.reddit.com/r/programming/comments/2i14ny/if_osnamestartswithwindows_9/ckxzw0e

Also, regarding the amazing Samus suit, do you think it would be possible to invite “talaaya” to be featured on Tested? Maybe she could be a guest to Adam’s cave to show off the armor? I’d love to see Adam’s impressions of this armor, it seems like the sort of project would really appreciate and enjoy.

  11. So, a book spoiler cast… isn’t that just a book club? (that said, I just started the Martian, and the beginning is certainly interesting as promised.)

  12. There were a couple of differences in the Pebble Steel from the original. The steel uses gorilla glass compared to poly carbonate, the steel has double the memory (to be made available in a future update), and like you mentioned it has the tri color led.

  13. Is there a super weird insect wing/reverb noise happening at the end of sentences for anyone else? O_o

    Yep, same here..

Will said that he is looking into the problem..

  14. No offense Jeremy, but there’s a reason YOU don’t know anyone buying PCs. PCs sell better than the other options, even now. This comes from someone involved in a retail location that sells Macs and PCs. At least 2/3s of the laptops I see going out the door are Windows systems. And even high end PCs are going to windows more often than you’d think. Macs are still WAY more expensive than PCs, and people know they aren’t really getting what they are paying for. Macs aren’t stealing a ton of business from what I’ve been seeing, it’s Chromebooks that are eating into Windows, and that’s almost always sub $300 PCs. And it’s RARE. We see a lot of people interested in the price, and then veering off as soon as you tell them what they are actually buying.

Windows is the way people go. It’s just too expensive to buy a Mac unless you’re already a Mac user.

  15. Will: I guess Verizon customers will now be able to get the service that they paid for. They pay enough for it.

  16. It looks like he’s using the Structure Sensor. While they mention on their site “There are already apps built for the Structure Sensor in the App Store…” Will mentions it’s $500. This would be the “Launch Bundle” for $499. This bundle comes with a license for Skanect Pro. He mentions this app networked to a computer but doesn’t confirm that it is the App he is using.
