An aspheric lens is a lens whose surface profiles are not portions of a sphere or cylinder. It reduces spherical aberrations, which is a fancy way of saying you get less or no distortion, particularly around the edges of the frame.

aspheric lens in a camera like this is probably to get sharper focus to the edge of the sensor with fewer elements in the lens. It also helps with chromatic aberration but that really is more evident in larger lens like a refracting telescope or large camera lens. In something this small I am guessing they went with it and brag about it to assure the folks buying it it gives better sensor focus and edge focus on a low count lens element system you typically see in these small units
I’ve also used the memo field for random jokes for friends. “Inflatable Devices”, “Magic Beans”, and the ever popular “Services Rendered” are good for a guffaw and good for the SEO of Tested.com
Now you’ve got me wondering what kind of “give me all the money” message you could fit in the memo field. I’d certainly be hesitant to cash a check like that.

Now I know that “‘sup G” is an actual saying. Some kids said it to me a year ago and I’d never heard it before, so I assumed they were taking the mickey and ignored them & kept walking. The guy seemed hurt that I didn’t respond. Oh well, you live and learn.
According to a StarWars.com article Sphero had nothing to do with the BB-8 that’s in the movie, guys.
The BB-8s we’re going to see on screen were all specialized puppets.
There was a rod-puppet that was puppeteered by tow guys who were in the shot and digitally removed, there was a bouncy one they could throw around, one that could be picket up by an actor and the closest ones to what we imagine it being were these: “There were two trike versions, which had stabilizer wheels, allowing them to be driven by remote control without a puppeteer in the shot”.
So basically a ball with training wheels that were removed in post. No Sphero technology anywhere.
The one that was at Celebration was built AFTER the movie was already shot. It might be in later films, but is not in this one. And according to the article Lee and Denton built that one themselves, again, no Sphero 🙂
