Sorry I can’t post them directly here, this editor does not allow it.
Will talked about it in a previous podcast. That’s his mobile VR platform. I think it’s the MSI Dominator Pro.
Does the Fake Big Room / directed walking thing workable with landscapes or does it only work in environments where there are walls and ceilings?
I don’t know that exact answer – but Krulwich from NPR did a story about an experiment in the 1920s showing that we can’t walk straight. The setting is outside for many of the studies he references. Most of the VR directed walking pieces take advantage of this tendency, but we don’t know why that is the case. Weird huh? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYcvLw_jkkk
OK, the ramen burger is not made with dry instant ramen. You cook fresh ramen noodles and place them in a ramekin topped with another ramekin and the starch coating the noodles will make it stay together. From what I know, it was invented by Keizo Shimamoto in Tokyo’s Bassanova ramen before bringing to NYC via pop-ups at Smorgusburg. It’s alright but it’s mostly hype. I’ve made them myself and its easier than I expected.
I just had the ramen burger , and it didn’t wow me at all. The ramen bun they make is flavorless like the ramen you just boil without the broth. Sauce was okay but was typical of american interpretations of Asian cuisine.
thanks for that link that is amazing! ! !
VR walking simulator would be my ultimate exercise machine… just being able to walk around monuments or canyons or museums or cities or whatever would be my ultimate use case, given a big enough walking space. Maybe it is possible since our brains, eyes covered, literally do not seem to know or care!
Norm and I had it on Thursday. It was fine – nothing great as you say. Patty was crispy on outside, soft in the middle, which was nice. I had very low expectations, so I was pleasantly surprised at first. Regrets emerged as the day went along.
Joey did shoot a “video” of the tasting. I’m sure it will show up someday.
