  1. For anyone wondering about mystery boxes I have to say to go to Archie Mcphee. They are a store that has been around since the early 80’s. They are a fun wacky store that’s a cross between magic shop, apothecary shop, gift shop, curiosity shop, costume shop, I can go on. But they have always sold the “Super Awesome Surprise Box and Bags”. They are fun gifts to get for people because you never know what you are getting and it’s always fun.

  2. Again, Towel Day is May 25. It is a fan tribute to Douglas Adams, author of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

    So it is not corporate!

  3. I went to my first convention last year, which was Minecon (Minecraft). It was amazing! I’d love to go every year if I could.

Signs was a fantastic movie. The Happening was okay. The Village I didn’t like that much. Unbreakable was HORRIBLE. Split was AMAZING.

  4. “i don’t want to spend $200 on an Amazon Look”???

This is why we pay Premium Membership dues! Come on, spend my money and get a Look. I want to see all three of you do a “before” and “after” fashion show.

  5. re: March for Science..

Canadians were having a sense of Deja Vu with these marches…since they did them in 2012, protesting against Prime Minister Harper’s persecution of science in the Canadian Government. Harper foreshadowed much of what Trump has done in the US. Harper muzzled scientists, forcing them to route *all* communications with the public through the Prime Minister’s office to get approval, he ordered destroyed five whole government libraries which contained historic climate data, and cut funding to anything that was associated with climate change. They even prevented famous researchers from using their own data to publish papers outside of Canada.

  6. I want to point out that in the movie Signs it wasn’t “the aliens are afraid of water”.

    M. Night Shyamalan’s failure was not a silly plot device, but one that was far too subtle. Upon multiple re-watchings it started to dawn on me that the little girl constantly asking for a glass of water, taking a sip, and then saying there’s something wrong with the water.

Presumably the little girl had drank the water in her house and never complained about it before. This can be evidenced by the fact that when the movie starts there aren’t glasses of water all over the house, yet as the movie progresses the glasses of water accumulate all over the house.

Now, I won’t bother getting into theories about what was “wrong” with the water. The point is it wasn’t just water, which then makes the common complaint of “why would aliens who can be killed by water invade a planet that is over 70% water?” less credible.

I personally think M. Night Shyamalan was being way too clever, and the movie falls flat on first viewing.
