  1. crusader8463 just replied to your comment:

” This video is the Mac fanboy equivalent to showing a vegetarian how hotdogs are made. “

uh…wouldn’t a meat loving hotdog fanboy watching how hotdogs are made be the equivalent?  “

It was a reference to seeing something they care about being brutally ripped apart and destroyed.

  2. I’m hella tempted to get in on the Minecraft after all the talk. What sort of system specs are needed to play? I’m guessing a netbook should be able to handle it fine.

  3.   Congrats!  Always feels good to have something recognized.

Woke up to Tested podcast AND a video, already going great.
Wondering if I should save the podcast for a walk later or if I should save it for a long Civ V session.

  4. I started to listen to the the tested podcast as I drive, but only if I am alone in the vehicle.
EDIT: also +1 for Ana or Gary on the podcast. it’s just not the same without

  5.   !!!  i’m really glad someone noticed the tested logo squeak in the closing song.  it makes me happy too.

  6. Minecraft is Lego where you make the blocks yourselves.
Chasing Amy is Smith’s best film, but Dogma is special to me because we used it in a philosophylession.

  7. by the way Norm did you predict Apple will release smaller screen versions of the iPad?  There’s no way they will do that.  They like to have one thing to show, not a bunch of different sizes.  That’s what Apple does, they choose one thing for their own reasons, and you have to learn to like it.  Aaaand no way they will deal with costs for manufacturing different sizes that will sell to less people, when they can stick to keeping one size and only having to change something like how many gigabytes it stores.

anyway, iPads are still the most useless thing ever.

  8.   I think that the millions of satisfied customers happily using their iPads would disagree with your assessment. Just a hunch.

  9.   and it’s still useless and I’m sure a huge percentage of them already had iPhones.  People talk about buying iPads and tablets like it’s an important decision that they now have to make; which one do they want, what are the prices, what are the features, but they really don’t need it, they just want to play with the big magical screen and enjoy “the best web browsing experience you’ve ever had”.  Steve Jobs tells people they need this device, and suddenly all these people who never wanted or needed this oversized iPod Touch are in a fuss trying to decide whether to buy now or wait for next year.  Look at the iPhone 4 and how much it sold.  These people are disposing of their old Apple devices for new ones each year, not because it’s important and they need it, but because it’s new and everyone is talking about it.

  10. i never realized how much i enjoy the sound of ana’s voice. very calming as i start my first game of minecraft.
