  1. WEDNESDAY NIGHT TESTED AND THURSDAY NIGHT TESTED LIVE SHOW?!? AM I IN INCEPTION?

Go deeper.  It’s the only way to know for sure.

  2. I’m pretty sure as long as you keep your baseband from updating when updating firmware and rejailbreaking you can just get ultrasnow off Cydia to unlock the iPhone 4.

  3. there is no way to get a short line at space mountain, duders.

if you’re just about first in line to get into the park in the morning, you could get in line before a lot of people if you move quick.

My friend’s dad is a sound engineer/ride mechanic/electrical engineer or something at Disneyland here in Anaheim. My mom’s friend is on the graveyard shift of janitorial and trying to get into painting.

Also, I hate Disney at this point. Like half the block around our house in Anaheim works for Disney, and they almost all refer to it as “the rat”. I get that it’s cool to go once in a while, but I don’t get the people who pay for the crazy expensive pass that allows them to come every day, I think it would be really boring to go every day, and would just make me more angry, because tourists move really slow trying to take pictures of the place.

Whitta, your ass would be fired day 1 for what you talked about doing, though I kind of support it because I nearly died laughing.

I know a couple people who seem to skip school every other Monday to go to Disneyland, and they’re seniors.

  4. Your too fat to be a jedi. FUCKED FOR LIFE.

Community PLEASE, make this a meme.

Whitta is the real Darth Vader. Fuckin Hilarious.

  5. HTC Shitstomper  = OK that’s kind of funny.
    Motorola Turdblanger = Hi-larious.

    *EDIT*
Will’s paranoia about owning an electric car reminds me of what my life was like when I had a diesel Mercedes. I knew were all the diesel stations were and, on trips, I had to plot out routes where either I knew or had good chance of finding a station.

  6. I love how norm cried the whole podcast, and acted like a 5 year old.

Hes a journalist, and he just says it has 256 ram without knowing it for sure, just because i rumour said so, its so stupid, and so unprofessional.

    To quote a review norm:
    – “Pick up an iPad 2 after handling an original iPad, and you’ll notice the difference right away. This is a lighter, thinner device.”
    – “The iPad 2 also has 512MB of RAM–twice that of the original iPad–and a 200MHz bus speed, likewise twice that of the original.”
    – “Though the iPad 2 is an improvement on the original iPad in numerous ways, it’s still an evolutionary product, not a revolutionary one”
    – “In short, the iPad 2 is the fastest iOS device ever made, by a long shot.”

    From macworld

Also i agree with gary saying its good that google made a different os for the tablets then just sizing up the google phone ui.

But i then have a question, wtf is apple doing then? Why not make a more os for ipad thats a bit more tablet esque, instead of just using the iphone ui. Oh well, i got high hopes for 5.0

  7.  Interesting. I just assumed they would be going with a purely bespoke design again.

What do you think they’ll do on the CPU side? An IBM design again? Or maybe a CPU/GPU combo with AMD fusion?

I remember Josh Walrath over at PC Per saying he thought ARM would be used in the next-generation consoles.

    Any thoughts?

  8. Thanks, Gary. I was beaming like an idiot, attempting to stifle a laugh while you were talking about your Jedi training school fantasy. Just too funny. Welcome back. 🙂

  9. Great podcast this week, guys.  I just hope your assumptions about console hardware are right, because I’ve really been noticing the lack of power in the 360, and even the ps3, a lot more recently.  Case in point, Killzone 3.  Sure, the character models, gun textures, and particle effects are top-notch, but too many of the environment textures are just straight up awful, and it’s a ps3 exclusive that doesn’t run at 1080p.  I could have sworn that was almost a requirement these days, unless I’m imagining things or something.  Another great example: LA Noire.   Don’t get me wrong–best facial animation/motion capture what not I’ve ever seen in a game, but judging by literally every screenshot and trailer I’ve seen, that game just looks bad.  Not to mention, current console hardware is really holding back and doing a disservice to PC games.  I don’t know, I guess I’m just really itchin’ for new consoles.

  10. Hey, I am a future college kid, and plan on having an iPad 2. I’m not sure if I will have a real computer, though.

  11. I actually find it fascinating that the iPhone 4 is more powerful than a 3DS. Also, with that new HDMI accessory, couldn’t Apple turn the iPad 2 into a console using a Bluetooth gamepad since it has “nine times”  better graphics? I need venture capitalist money.

Oh, and a belated Happy Anniversary, Tested. May you have another year of hijinks that nearly kills everyone.

  12. A few things:
Gary the fanboy came back in full force lol. Even going so far as to try and tease Norm into upgrading to the iPad2.

And I don’t give a shit about theme parks. Please talk about space and stuff that is so much more interesting! 😛

  13. I just this month went through the insane bullshit of hooking up two 27″ cinema displays to my PC. I ended up having to get a Radeon 6970 so that I could use the two DVI ports of my old 23″ monitors as well as the minidisplayports on my new Apple monitors. One thing anyone trying to use apple displays should know is that the only device that you can use to do the DVI to MiniDisplayPort conversion only supports 1) single link DVI, and 2) up to 1920×1080. This is only good enough for the 23″ model! Not the 27″ as I assumed.

The only solution to use a couple 27″ cinema displays is to get a Radeon 6000 series card, or a 5000 with 2 or more minidisplayports. If you’re smart and get a nice 6000 series, you can use your 27 inch monitors, and also both your old DVI dual monitors, and maybe even putting them vertical like I did. Plus you still have the HDMI, and although you can only output to four displays simultaneously, you can always keep your computer hooked up to your TV and switch like I do.

The biggest deal is monitor brightness control, but that can be solved if you have an apple laptop. Hook it up, set to max brightness, and forget it.

It was a pain in the ass to set up, but I’ve got five awesome displays hooked up simultaneously now. Installing the Apple Boot Camp drivers broke my MacDrive 8 though. 🙁

tldr; Please do lots of research before attempting to connect Apple Cinema Displays to a PC. Also, it’s a huge pain in the ass, and probably not worth it – but it can be done.

  14. Can’t believe how big an AppBoy Whitta is, he already plans to get an iPad 3, god forbid another product could be successful in the next 12months. Go HoneyComb!.. Freedom!

P.S. There’s actually a good chance I’ll get and iPad 3 as well, LOL.

  15. Well yes and no, Call of Duty: United Offensive an expansion pack for the first Call of Duty it was developed by Gray Matter Interactive which later merged with Treyarch, Call of Duty 3 was Treyarchs by names first CoD game yes, it was rumored to be coming on PC a year after the console release but then no news ever since.

and yes Call of Duty 2 was a 360 launch title
