  1. oh my god, you guys talked about ponies without me??? T_T  i’ve been addicted for over a month…

  2. I’m assuming it’s referring to this  “

That this exceeds every bit of awesomeness in my book.

For you’re pleasure I present awesomeness!

  3. Should I regret introducing you to My Little Pony on GetGlue, Ana?

Oh man, I love Rainbow Dash as Nightblade in that Alewives video. It’s so perfect.

  4.  wait, are you professor plum on getglue?  yes, you should.  it destroyed my life.

    “are there gurrrrrls theeeere?”

  5. I was so pleased to hear Will use a Cricket term that I almost feel bad for correcting him.

The wicket is the patch of ground in front of the stumps and a Sticky Wicket is where it has been raining and the grass is not 100% dry and so the ball bounces off at unpredictable angles.  Shame on Gary for not correcting you Old Chap 😉

  6. I love sync! Bluetooth is cool for hooking the iPhone for calls and music but I prefer using the iPod via USB for music playback.

  7. On the fallout bunkers in mountains thing – wasn’t it less of it being nuke proof but more that all that rock blocks the radiation somewhat – seeing as nukes would be more likely to target cities and not try and hit the bunker itself?

  8. Wow Gary was right. I just watched the 1st episode of Married with Children and that theme song is killing me. It sounds so much like it could be Love and Marriage. It’s truly disappointing.

    Ellis. Close enough!

  10. Occasional video that doesn’t work? Half the embedded YouTube videos I come across don’t let me play them.

  11. Gary’s Family Matters rage had me laughing out loud. I now know at least two things that will set Gary Whitta off: metachlorians and anyone liking Family Matters.

And the show after Seinfeld was Wings, one of my favorite shows ever. On for eight seasons. Awesome characters.

  12. The iPad is the best tablet *caveat* if you can stomach iOS. That doesn’t make me anti-Apple unless you equate the sum of Apple to that POS UI and OS.

  13. Nice try Internet troll

Just because he got so excited when he learned he could copy/paste text into various forums and news articles around the Internet doesn’t mean we should hate him for it.

The fact that he apparently does a specific text search for My Little Pony and then pastes that, without changing the content or context of it is what we should hate him for. Is there nothing better to do with your time? Or is this a spammer program that finds uses of MLP, signs up for forums, and then quotes a MLP related post? Either way, there was way too much effort put into this. All because some guy is sexually frustrated over MLP and has decided he cannot let anyone know about it thus he has to spend his life going around the Internet about how terrible it is.

  14.  Move along – he found the site by chance and it would be nice if he didn’t return. Let’s not feed the troll. What he does with his time is completely up to him, just as it is so that I like MLP and that’s completely up to me. 🙂

  15. I have a pretty good vocabulary and got a perfect SAT score, but I learned a new word today (screed) from Will’s Twitter regarding that MLP troll. Tested is awesome 🙂

Yeah I agree. Luckily Will and Norm were there to provide a sufficient amount of eye-rolling and counter arguments to make me happy

  16. well, it’s not like they don’t have enough nukes to go around. I’m sure they had NORAD on their list of targets.

  17. well, it’s not like they don’t have enough nukes to go around. I’m sure they had NORAD on their list of targets.

Putting your C&C in a mountain now would be useless – but remember it was built in Cold War era – 1950s.  Back then nukes were a numbers game, Russia had lots or ICBMs (although even back then it is debatable how many missles were serviceable) but not enough to take out all targets before the US launched their own missles and it became a zero win game.  It was much more likely you would see a rogue state backed by Russia firing a single nuke, or even sneaking an old fashioned ground based atomic bomb, in to one city and hoping to cripple the government – hence a remote C&C.

Also your cold war ICBM was a slow lumbering thing by today’s standards.  The US didn’t have anti-missile tech much yet and so once it was in the air that was that – but you can bet NORAD was surrounded by AA batteries that would take out a missile.  It would blanket the area in radioactive material but that is why you are in a mountain 😉

  18. For months now I have not heard Gary really ever loose his cool, but mention Family Matters and its F-Bomb madness, but I definitely agree though.
All this talk about the classic Simpsons really brings a tear to my eye, since that really defined my childhood. Oh well.
And never in a million years did I expect Norm to have watched Roseanne of all shows, damn.

, every single episode of every single season of South Park is online on South Park official website for free. They have gotten with the times apparently.

Just because he got so excited when he learned he could copy/paste text into various forums and news articles around the Internet doesn’t mean we should hate him for it.  ”

    That’s exactly what it means.

  20. The fact that Will managed to get 3 iPad 2s and I waited for 2 hours and got nothing and am now waiting weeks for the one I ordered online to ship… man, what a rip off.

  21. Another great podcast, guys. Coming from someone that isn’t even that interested in purchasing the newest tech, I love the discussions you have on Tested podcast.

If you ever decide to watch South Park, all the episodes are available on southparkstudios.com. Unless they stopped doing that. That’s for people who don’t have Netflix.

  22.
Come on you guys, Good Times was about a real family way before Rosanne and Married with Children. I think the real realization is that I watched more sitcoms by the time I was fourteen than all of you combined. I find that incredibly sad and I hate myself for it. Maybe that’s why I don’t watch T.V. anymore.

  23. Man, I really had to fight to keep my poker face when Gary unleashed his british rage on Norm.
I’ve got to stop listening to the podcast while grocery shopping, people tend to give weird looks to a guy laughing to himself while shopping.

Loved the talk about TV shows. It’s funny how aggressively people who don’t like Family Guy hate it.
I really love The Simpsons, Futurama, South Park, Family Guy and the sorts.  Each one has their strong episodes as well as cringeworthy ones.

  24. Totally didn’t answer the jailbroken iOS question. It’s like you just ignored it. I want Cydia apps of the week. There are some great gems there!!

  25. Watching all the Soutpark episodes is TOTALLY worth it! There are only a couple of episodes I do not care for (nearly all involve mr. hanky or towely).

  26. Saw an episode of My Little Pony this morning because so many grown men love it. It was cute, I suppose, but the humor is obviously aimed at young girls. Don’t get why the internet is obsessed with it, especially with better cartoons on TV like Adventure Time and Regular Show.

Also, I’m about the same age as Norm, and I agree with Gary. Family Matters was awful. It’s like when people my age and younger say garbage like Kenan & Kel, My Brother & Me, and Swat Cats were good shows. Nostalgia goggles at work.

  27. and everyone else.
When discussing digital distribution, and the reduction of physical media, I rarely hear anyone mention the thing I find most distressful.  It leaves us, the consumers, with nothing to trade in.  With physical media, we actually have something we can get a return on.  We can sell it, or trade it to someone else.  Take that away, and it just makes us all more indentured to our jobs, and the content producers.
