The original trilogy has three ambiguous titles. A New Hope refers to: Luke; to the Jedi re-emerging; to the Death Star plans; and to the Death Star being destroyed. They are all new hopes for the Rebellion.
The Empire Strikes Back by: finding the Rebel base on Hoth; by capturing Han; and most importantly by hitting Luke where it hurts, in the heart, with the big reveal.
Return Of The Jedi refers to: Luke now a fully fledged Jedi Knight; the return of the Jedi Knights to the galaxy; and the return and redemption of Anakin from the Dark Side.
The Force Awakens in Rey; and in the galaxy at large.
Therefore The Last Jedi can also refer to not just Luke, but to the end of the Jedi Knights as an entity, I mean Luke even says as much in the trailer that that’s what he wants.
My expectation is that Rey is not going to be a Jedi. She’s going to be something new.
Looking forward for the review on the 8K. If you are looking for ideas for a pre pimax review projections video I would totally love to see Adams take on the blade runner pistol in Hotdogs, Horseshoes and Handgrenades and if it’s good reference or just another bad take.

Ok, I had emailed you earlier in the week and I understand that on this list of emails to reply to I am not on the top of the pile but concerning Tested Live you said in this podcast that Tested Live is in fact October 28th. Umm where can we buy tickets for this? I’ve missed out on the meet and greet before and I don’t want to this time if I am driving down from Oregon. I checked out the Castro’s website and October is not listed yet.

I had twin Math profs in college, took me almost a year to figure it out, I had one brother for Calc 1 and the other for Calc 3.
Also, I feel a lot better about JJ and Star Wars after watching Movies with Mikey. JJ had an impossible task with 7 and he did it very well.

You guys seem to forget the JJ Abrams is an either a (exec.) producer for this whole Star Wars trilogy…. Being “the money” or producer, I’m sure allows him to make a lot of choices w.r.t. who’s doing what, including nominating himself to write and direct.
Regarding the Hellboy movie and casting Ben Daimio. This is why this “cultural sensitivity theater” is such balderdash.
Folks are happy because Daniel Dae Kim is in discussions to play the role of a Japanese character? I’m going to assume that these same folks are completely ignorant of the fact that the Japanese do NOT like Koreans, and Koreans do NOT like Japanese. Speaking in generalities, there are worlds of difference between Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, and it would be considered offensive by many Koreans to call them the same as the Japanese and vice versa. (and being a Korean, I have some first hand knowledge of this) In many ways, you can view the “happiness” of casting Kim to play Ben Daimio even more “racist” than the casting of Ed Skrein because it’s conflating all Asian cultures into one big pot which couldn’t be further from the truth and is certainly not a proposition with which any actual “Asian” would agree.
That’s why this is all a bunch of folderal. Can we please just go back to letting actors ACT in movies and stop turning EVERY SINGLE THING EVERYWHERE into a reason to whine, complain, moan, groan, and show how “sensitive” we are. It’s a STUPID MOVIE about a STUIPD COMIC BOOK DEMON! If one needs to turn to comic book movies to find affirmation of one’s own identity / culture / self esteem, then one is already a complete basket case that belongs in a friggin’ asylum and not in public.
And, yes, I’m still pissed off that it is now IMPOSSIBLE to produce a decent version of “the Mikado” because of all of this Social Justice Warrior douchebaggery. It was only one of G & S’s greatest shows, but just like “Madame Butterfly” we have to flush good art down the toilet because stupid idiots feel it’s a virtue to be offended.
