Episode 132 – Wow, It’s Late – 7/26/2012

On this week’s show, Norm strokes electronics, Will changes a camera, and a wild Brad appears. All that, plus the latest on the Nexus 7, the Sparrow sale to Google, Gabe Newell vs. Windows 8, meat, and another episode of fake outtakes. Enjoy!

  1. What was Norm referring to when they talked about Mountain Lion’s price? That the real cost is the $20 for the os + “pdf review” (?) at $5?

  2. Will and Norm didn’t even state why the Pebble was being delayed. The original date was scheduled when they were expecting 1,000 watches to be made. They have to make 85,000 from the Kickstarter.

If you were a startup and were expecting to make a thousand watches and you now have to make 85 times more, then of course you fucking have to push it back. C’mon now guys.

  3. Probably the cost of a monthly subscription to Ars Technica, which would allow you do download the Siracusa review as a pdf.

  4. Hey Brad I’m right there with you. HP Touchpad kept the WebOS, Windows laptops (with 2 different versions), iPod, and Samsung Android phone. Go fractured OS loyalty

EDIT – Regarding homogenized worlds in Star Trek: that ain’t just a human colony thing, Vulcans speak Vulcan, have a species wide philosophy and outlook, Klingons speak Klingon, have as far as we know a species wide religion and customs. Instead of coming up with another way to put some wrinkles on an actor’s nose, maybe flesh out all those interesting species you’ve already created…
