We pay homage to Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar by building model kits based on the practical miniatures used in the film’s production. Frank and Norm each make a Ranger spaceship, showing painting, masking, and weathering for this scale model.

really liked this. i used to build a ton of this type of model as a kid, but i never knew any of these techniques. it is really cool to see the professional approach. (also doesn’t hurt that I am an Interstellar fanatic)

A Roci model would be awesome. Technically 3 different versions though – Martian colors, Gas Hauler Disguise, and Disguised without the gas tanks.
Side note I briefly considered painting a car in Martian Roci colors.
Another reason not to cut everything out, you can actually hold onto the trees while you’re painting.
That’s a great looking ship. Pity the movie didn’t quite live up to all the hype.
Just went to look this model up on ebay because I couldn’t find it on Moebius’ site. Turns out it is sold on other sites still.
While on ebay I saw a light kit for this model and it looked amazing. I always wanted to do a DS9 model with a light kit…maybe someday.
AAH why don’t premium member video’s go to normal after a while ?!? I really want to see it but I don’t see why I should pay an entire subscription to see one video from 2 years ago.
