Model Behavior: Miniature Snow Effects!
Continuing with our practice of experimenting with miniature effects we’ve seen online, Kayte and Norm try their hand at building a snow scene with a previously-assembled tank model and rocky terrain display. Watch as we make snow puddles, melted snow, and simulated powder for this winter war scene!

This is my favorite Tested content right now. These videos have inspired me to pick back up on a project I started a long time ago and the techniques I’m learning here have really come in handy. Thanks for doing this series. So glad Kayte joined the tested team and is sharing her skills. She’s amazing at her craft and a great inspiration for makers. Keep up the great work, gals and guys.
seconding the praise for kayte! not only is she skilled, she is also good at making these skills and techniques accessible. both by explanations and making sure theres a way to get a lot of use out of things you can by for not much money.
I’m confused, didn’t Kayte say not to use baking soda, and then they used baking soda? ¯_(ツ)_/¯ does the paint and glue seal it safely? I would think it might have the same reaction to the acrylic paint as it would to a model.
This tutorial was a HUGE help in getting some snow effects that were perfect for my Shining Axe Knocker I just completed. Thanks so much!
I didn’t quite catch the model’s name what is it ?
Great video still
It’s from Machination Studios. I can’t remember the exact kit name off the top of my head though.
