I always thought that whole chain thing is incredibly inaccurate. There’s no way they run onto and off the field in a completely straight line. Especially when some of those measurements come down to a couple inches.

I went to their website, it says that they’ve existed as a company since 2001, and I assume this is their first near commercial ready product. I wonder if it’s a group of hobbyists because that seems like a long time, then again I’m no engineer I guess testing could take a while.
This isn’t the future of anything.
Considerind that it needs a runaway to take off, I would say that its a step back on a helicopter.
And now we can start guessing how astronomically expensive a car that can turn into a helicopter will be.
Who is this product for exactly? What market are they hoping to satiate with this product? The future of what exactly? We’re never going to hit a point where there are thousands of these flying around any given airspace… that is ludicrous.
Practically speaking, I really DO wonder who this is for? The CEO of a major corporation who doesn’t want to park his car on the street, so he uses the helipad instead (if it can even handle a straight vertical take-off). Business people who need to commute a few hundred miles every day, or couple of days? What kind of cargo space is there? I dunno… investor’s beware. I don’t think this is going to generate a huge return on your investment.
Look, I love tech. I do. This is amazing. But this isn’t a car. It’s an autogyro you can drive on a road, not a flying car. It’s exists solely to carry the parts that make it fly. It can’t store anything, it can’t carry a family, and it can’t do anything other than exist to fly. It’s a great leap forward, it’s ingenius, it’s amazing. But it isn’t a car. Also, about 80% of the people you see driving on any road anywhere in the US need to have serious retesting done to keep their drivers license. It’s criminally easy to get a license to drive 4,000+ pounds of glass, rubber and steel at very high speeds and most people are extremely dangerous and lacking in training. Why there is this push for flying cars is beyond my understanding. I don’t like being on the road with the vast majority of the people in this country, I really don’t want a flaming fireball landing on my head when I walk down the street because some idiot didn’t stop talking on their phone and crashed into another idiot. Flying cars will never be a reality unless computer control becomes absolutely flawless. There isn’t enough individual talent and self discipline to make it reality, flying takes a lot of talent and hard work to get proficient and safe at it. Most people can’t stop eating their damn McBiscuit long enough to pay attention to the guy in front of them reading the paper in traffic. Do we really want people doing this at 3k feet off the ground?
… not impressed. I really dont want to see flying cars more accessible to the public anyway. The vast majority of the population can barely handle the 2 dimensional plane of driving… can you imagine all the idiots trying to navigate with 3??
For it to count, it can’t have a cockpit that fucking complicated.

This is the future of the 1940s… It’s so dumb. You’d need to land at an airport, cause gyrocopters aren’t vtol, so they need a bit of a strip to land. They land at fairly slow speed, but they kind of need a bit of space to do the aproach and all that, acuse if you stop completely and hover with them, you’re boned, so if you overshoot your “parking spot” you have to do a fly around, or you just crashland it… If they let these land all over the place, they would have to let private choppers just land everywhere.. Yeah.. There’s just no infrastructure to support this bullcrap. There’s no way you’ll land on any big airports with it, and private airports are few and far between. Researching and developing stuff like this is just such a waste of time. They are obviously clever people, just don’t get how they can believe in this product.. About as useful as a electric shopping cart that is also a hovercraft.Bring your shopping over rough terrain, in case you parked your car 40 miles away in a swamp.
