This Is Only a Test 120 – Sandwich Lube – 05/10/2012

On this week’s show, Gary has a lie down, Will sees a hummingbird, and Norm explains the proper role of condiments. All that, plus the latest on film archival, the $99 Xbox, the new iPad 2, and another episode of fake outtakes.

But great show even though you were one man short for a couple of minutes 🙂

Oh yeah, i forgot about the audio portion. i try to catch the video version whenever i cant, a lot more dynamic

“this is only a test” has definitely become my favorite podcast of the week. just wish it was 5 hrs long. jk

  2. Pro-Tip | All mainstream cinemas will play 35-45mins or Ads and Trailers from a films scheduled start time. That’s usually 15-20mins of of slides/ads with 5 trailers depending on release date and movie type, Art-house usually play 3 trailers. I’m a projectionist.

As an avid AMC-goer and former projectionist, I couldn’t disagree more. It’s really more like 15-20 minutes. There is absolutely no way “all mainstream cinemas” play 35-45 minutes of ads and trailers before they actually start their films.

  4. Time it then if you don’t believe me. Goes Slides, trailer 1, ads, trailers 2&3, premium ads, trailers 4&5, premium ID, feature. 35-45mins for most films.

  5. Ah the high pitched squelches around 1:49:25 really aren’t as present or offensive as in the audio only version. But they are present. I totally didn’t hear them in the live stream or video archive, but wow are they ever grating in the podcast. In this one it does sound more like a metal screen door than in the audio only version, which sounds like a cross between a whistle in your ear and fingernails on a chalkboard. Now I feel like I truly get that scene in the store in Teen Wolf.
