This is Only a Test 121 – Two Very Special Guests – 5/17/2012

On this week’s episode, Matt makes a Canadian joke, Wes gets lazy, and Norm admires strawberries. All that plus Microsoft’s Signature, Verizon ditches unlimited data, Comcast raises its download limits, the latest on SNES emulation, Will and Norm visit Adam’s workshop and another episode of fake outtakes.

  1. I love Matt and Wes, but with the return of Jamie and Adam, was anybody else expecting them?

  2. When I saw the title, I thought it was finally time for that anticipated Jamie and Adam podcast appearance.

… but nope. Adam and Jamie continue to be nonexistent on this site while Will and Norm do the bulk of the site presentation but don’t get the name branding.

I’m actually glad you guys have Matt and Wes back, it’s great to hear/see them again!

  3. Yup, agree with Adam and Jamie are almost completely non-existent. We had one video with Adam in it, the rest of their “contributions” can be counted on one hand and are basically just YouTube videos they’ve re-posted, nothing original.

This is the first time I’ve been back to this site, I’ve now taken to just subscribing to the Testedcom YouTube channel. It’s much easier and I only see the original videos they produce and not all the other crap that gets posted now!

  4. Adam and Jamie are incredibly busy people that have to manage two television shows among other things. You can’t fault them that much, unless you would rather have them be disingenuous about the whole thing and have all their articles ghostwritten.

  5. In case you didn’t know Adam and Jamie have been on tour ever since the site launched but this allowed them to promote Tested.com at their shows which is absolutely great for the site.

  6. It’s definitely cool that Adam and Jamie advertise the site during their live shows and I do think it helps expose the site more.

But, with that said, will the MythBusters crowd actually stick around at this site when they see that their presence on the site is slim to none? I think they might just take a glance at it and see “these other guys” as the predominant feature and likely never return to the site.

For quick website hits, the re-branding is cool, but for the long-term idea, it hurts it unless Adam and Jamie actually feel like they belong here.

Even in the videos where Adam and Jamie are present, they don’t act like they are apart of the site, despite the fact it’s “theirs” now. In fact, it’s usually like “Hi, I’m Norm from Tested here with Adam Savage”.

    It’s rather embarrassing really.

Will said in this episode that Adam’s schedule is really busy, and to that I don’t fault him, but because of this I highly doubt Adam and Jamie will ever be on the site much more than they already are now, which is just a bad sign of the future of this place in my opinion.
