This Is Only a Test – CES Day 1 – 1/10/2012

On tonight’s episode, Will loves upscaling, Norm covets a Vita, and Gary goes on an adventure. All that, plus the latest from Sony and Samsung at CES, the next iCade, fake outtakes, and a whole lot more.

” I’ve been using a Curve 8900 for about a year now. As a phone I think it is fantastic, and I love the UMA feature. However, the love stops there. Blackberry’s app store is so terrible I don’t even know why they bother having one. For example, Doodle Jump for the iPhone is $0.99 (or $1.99, I forget), but the same game on the Blackberry is more than double the iPhone price. Why it costs so much more is beyond me, but the store is generally way too expensive for the apps you’re getting, and I don’t think the proprietary apps are all that good either.  My Blackberry has good reception and call quality, but I don’t even dream of using it for anything ele anymore.  “

Yeah, RIM really needs to offer quality apps at a decent price on App World. The Android’s app store makes it an OS that can offer much more features than the Blackberry can. “

Yeah, Android seems to be gaining some serious steam right now. I have a 2G iPhone which is an MP3 player only because I find it to be absolute shit as a phone, but I don’t know how much (if any) the phone has improved as the generations have gone on. When I get a new phone either later this year I’m going to be quite torn between a new iPhone or some kind of Android based phone.

  2. Shame about the audio, but I’m sure you can just re-upload it? Love the location! It’s Neesh, not Nitch (Niche).

  3. Download the file and offset the audio about 565ms and it synchs up pretty nicely.

Ohh, I didn’t think of that. I can do that in VLC. In my case the sweet spot is 900ms.

  4. Matt is right, most people’s fridges are over 10+ years old. People don’t buy new fridgaes that ofen unless it’s completely broken. People actually get them repaired. Will is nuts. 😛

  5. it’s really weird how i was just listening to the Incredibles soundtrack and then i turn this on and the music matches perfectly

  6. desynced content beats no content any day.

I would disagree with that. I’m listening to the podcast because this is unwatchable.

  7. i just scrolled past the faces, worked fine for me. Also, they served “corn dog nuggets” in the hot lunch at my old elementary school, and I’m twenty now. Maybe Wisconsin is just on the cutting edge of corn-dog technology.

  8. desynced content beats no content any day.

I would disagree with that. I’m listening to the podcast because this is unwatchable.

exactly. would you rather listen to the podcast, or not have the podcast?
