Episode 107 – Animal Crackers – 02/09/2012

On this week’s episode, Will makes a bold declaration, Norm gets technical, and Gary shares a personal fantasy. All that, plus iPad 3 rumors, the latest news on Windows 8 for ARM, Chrome on Android, Steve Jobs’ FBI file, and another episode of fake outtakes.

  1. Webby just replied to your comment:

I ended up buying Snow Leopard. In order for me to update from Tiger to Snow Leopard I had to buy a pack that also came with iLife and iWork 09. I upgraded to Snow Leopard and installed all of the software and now my iPad is syncing. Thanks for all of the advice.

Where do you live that you have to wait another month until the iPad is released? “

He is in Japan. The iPad gets released near the end of the month here (UK)

  2. I can echo Norm’s disapproval of the Doritos slingshot baby ad.

The thing to keep in mind is everyone has their own tastes…and the general population likes really dumb, cheesy shit…and babies.

People might not remember the name but they know the ship. I remember making an origami/papercraft A-Wing back in middle school.

  3. Gary needs to provide the pledge list for his animal cracker idea, I mean I don’t want to give $15 without thinking that if I just gave another $20 I could get a fridge magnet in the shape of one of the animals.

  4. I would totally help fund your movie with Will and Norm acting!

Just a thought, the Apple of countries… that’s China right? Being the most successful right now.

  5. Is the audio podcast a better quality than the video this time? I tend to enjoy my faux-voyeuristic indulgence of the video podcast, but the audio is so blown out that I can’t handle it.

  6. A better place to buy replacement iPhone parts is iResq.com. iFixit is way overpriced and shipping is slower than iResq.com. I bought a white back for my black 4S (making it look like the old 3G and 3GS) and the price on iResq.com was $35 and on iFixit was $80. The one from iResq.com was waaaay better than the ones from iFixit and I’ve bought almost an entire iPhone 4’s parts from iFixit. Never again after shopping at iResq.com. Also, I bought a screen from iFixit and it was absolutely terrible. It didn’t fit right, some tabs were bent where you install the six screws, and it leaked light all the way around the front. Don’t buy from them if iResq.com has the same part at a cheaper price because it’s probably equal or better quality. iFixit is well known, but their quality is hit and miss and they are waaay overpriced.

  7. flinging things between TV and mobile device is something I actually can do with my Google TV right now, something they call Catch & Throw, which is good with how broken the YouTube app is….

It is pretty useful, I have used it as y’all have said to show a clip before, and then have use back of my device as it just points the Google TV at the page/youtube video you are on.

TV size talk is pretty interesting, I’m at 32 inches in my dorm and my parents have… 36 I think? And a 42 that they need to use more, but weee cleaning and moving around stuff. It’s interesting to see what other people go for.
