  1. It wasn’t clear in the video, did it just beep and flash or did it also correct the steering like it does when it tries to stay in a lane?

  2. Noise only. The driver will hear it if he is not wearing ear plugs, talking on the phone or playing his music at volume level 11.

Wish that they would install these on delivery trucks. I drive a Miata and nearly ended up under a delivery truck as it tried to move into my lane during rush hour traffic – if we were moving faster, I would have been under it. I could tell from seeing his side mirrors that they were not set up correctly. I ended up with new panels on the left side of the car (paid by his insurance) and he (I hope) is no longer a delivery driver. I avoid areas of the city (DC) used by delivery trucks. If you are driving in my fair city as a tourist, avoid the middle two westbound lanes on New York Ave around 395.

I think that a camera setup is a better idea to noise.

The time when I deal with a blind spot is when I am parked in a lot with large SUVs/Trucks/Hummers to the left and right. I have to pull out very carefully because I am driving blind for the first 5 – 7 feet. I cannot see vehicles or people.

  3. I have a question.

Why not A: just put a camera in the blind spot so it is not blind, and/or B: have a sensor send a signal as soon as you trigger the signal light? Make the signal light a kind of blind spot checking device.

I have heard that lane encroachments are responsible in many high speed crashes – so, why not do it that way. I mean, there are already sensor and cameras there to do it this way (in the video).
