Those of us who live in potential disaster zones sometimes create a “horcrux box” of a few items that sample the important moments on our lives from which we derive great meaning. Not so many that we miss them on a daily basis, but if we lose everything else we still have those few objects to ground us materially to our past lives. In my family we stash these safely with siblings in other parts of the country.
I want to hear an answer to this question! Where does all that sawdust go?
