  1. Great video. Coincidentally I had to break out the brushes today for some detail on my Lawgiver. I actually found that for the super tiny detail, the point of a toothpick was exactly the right thing. It didn’t hold much paint at all, but I could place it with amazing accuracy,

  2. Thank you Bill or Norm (this is how you spell it… hahha) another great video full of tips (see what I did there… brushes… tips… brushes have tips… )

  3. Agreed. I also keep toothpicks handy for scraping off small bits of paint where I strayed outside the lines. That softer wood tips tends not to scratch the undercoat. Toothpicks are a must!

  4. Very useful overview, thankyou.
Always good to choose the best tool for the job!

Edit: my order of a big box of acid brushes just arrived. 🙂

  5. Also a pro tip, don’t get paint near the “metal thing” (I always forget what it is called). When the paint dries in the bristles in there it will start forcing them apart, which makes the brush lose its shape. I recommend only getting paint like half way to prolong the life of the brush. Also when you leave the brush to dry, hang it up somewhere so the bristles point down so the water (and left over paint) is pulled away from the “metal thing”.

There’s also great brush soaps you can use to clean them, to also increase the life span.

  6. A friend of mine paints a lot of war-gaming miniatures and I keep him supplied with cat whiskers, which he uses for ultra-fine work.

  7. Are you talking literal, single cat whiskers? I have two cats, had no idea they could produce something useful. 😉

  8. – Yes, literal single cat whiskers. For tiny single dots, like a black dot insider an already colored iris. This guy is hardcore.
